LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I agree that it seems like he wasn't the one making the decision this time, at least not completely. They've beaten Portland twice, Sacramento, Utah and Dallas (I know, not that impressive, but Dallas did just beat Boston and they beat Golden State a few games ago). As crazy as it sounds, they've been a different team since getting Tyson Chandler. Before they were running LeBron/Kuzma frontcourts that were getting eaten alive. Now they have a legit back up big man. They're up to the #11 defense in the NBA after last night.
Oh i agree about Chandler. No doubt. As for their wins, werent most of those at home? Look, i know they will win more games than they lose. They will be a playoff team for sure. I just think its going to be more of the same, in the playoffs Lebron will have to be a beast for them to win those series. Just my opinion.

5 of their wins during this 9-2 stretch have been at home and four have been on the road. I agree completely with you that they're going to need LeThanos to show up in the playoffs to have any success. This Lakers roster is better than the Cavs roster from last year, but it's still not great. The "young core" has disappointed me with the exception of Josh Hart. With that said, I think they can make the WCF unless they play golden state earlier. Houston has no one to stop LeBron.

I think there are many teams ahead of Houston that they will have to get through. They could lose to Denver, Okc, Utah, Memphis, Portland, heck the Clippers are no joke right now. We will see i guess. This is a team that barely beat Atlanta and the Cavs.

And we beat the 76ers. Should i start getting excited about our playoff run? :chuckle:

Epic show time fail there is no SHOWTIME.

This team doesn't have any pizazz. Very boring to watch. I try to enjoy a game. But you see trash plays from boring players that make them almost unwatchable. None of them are exciting as KOBE or magic was back in the day.

Lately, I am intrigued with Lonzo's forays to the basket. He taking it to the hole.If he finishes it's beautiful. But if he misses it's hilarious! I am cool with that. You definitely can't blink when Lonzo does that.

Lebron. Definitely, past prime. He is a bowling ball going in the paint and has nice 3's.. I never find Lebron exciting for some reason. He is a great player just to me not exciting.

Kuzma OMG this guy is so boring. He was good in his rookie season. This year, he trash.Makes bone head plays forces low IQ shots. Wannabe hero. Next time he tries to score on the entire team. Luke should ring his neck. WTF is he thinking?

INGRAM OMG this guy is like a lazy eye not even close version of KD!Stop comparing him to KD.Wwhy cause he has skinny legs? He looks like he is high everyday.

Hart and KCP. I wont bother.

I knew they should have traded Ingram this summer. Which young laker has raised his value? Hart only I think.

I've heard that Laker fans don't want to trade for Beal because it will hurt the opportunity to sign Durant.

Maybe Lebron really has gotten Durant to come to LA, but I think it is really likely that they don't get any top tire free agents.

Ingram and Ball are both good players. Ball is never going to be Jason Kidd but he could be a Shaun Livingston type and has started to play well with Lebron.
The problem with Ingram is he works best as a point forward where he can use his dribbling and decent vision to cause the other team mismatches. The problem for the Lakers he'll never be as good as James in that same role (he's also really needs to cut the TO's down and improve his range but that may come with age)

For example, I'd take Ingram on the Cavs in a heartbeat if I were the Cavs over any non-Sexton player. If Sexton can improve his range, Ingram's ability as a point forward would really mesh well with a scoring PG like Sexton

I haven't watched him a ton, but maybe 5 times this year. I wouldn't trade him for Cedi straight up right now. Their stats aren't that different, but Ingram has a lot more experience. In his 3rd year of heavy minutes his 3 ball is still bad. The only stat that is even better per 36 is assists, but it's 3.3 instead of 2.5. Cedi got off to slow start after 2 games, but is back looking good. I think at the end of the year he is a better player.

He doesn't seem like a good decision maker to me, and his defense appears to be crud.

Why can't a guy that is "all around good" getting rebounds and scoring not do well with Lebron? It's confusing. I realize he is 21, so yeah he still has room to grow.

Still, the idea that he can net a star in a trade seems pretty presumptuous to me.

I want Cedi to succeed but he's been good in only a handful of games this year: the thing that make Ingram interesting in real times as a project is he really is point forward. Can bring the ball against pressure and because of his length you can't really put a PG on him while on defense he can do the opposite and guard 1-3. On offense while he's not a great 3 point shooter he can easily take 3 and 4's off the dribble and is very comfortable posting up 1 and 2's

His TO's and lack of consistent 3 point shooting are an issue but he really is a better prospect then Cedi just because of he can create mismatches which Cedi simply can't do at this time. Honestly don't like typing this as I'm a fan of Cedi's and don't particularly like ingram but you can see glimpses of it when Lebron is on the bench and keys are given to Ingram

He plays for the Lakers and he plays with Lebron. Therefore he is a star. Those are the ESPN rules.

I don't think everyone should think like I do, but I'm overrating Cedi less than Lakers fans overate Ingram. This is Ingram's 3rd year. He's played 10 times the minutes Cedi has and isn't obviously better.

We all know LeBron going to LA was not all about championships because if it was he would not have chosen the Lakers. A large part of the reason for going was family life style. Secondly don't think for one second lebron's offers have dried up just because he has signed with the Lakers. His popularity alone will get him in the door with any studio, tech company or billionaire in the world. Local commercials in that market alone can land one 7 figure deals. They will cut deals with auxiliary relationships just to get next to Lebron . His brand on an international scale has grown significantly and this is only his first year in LA.

From a basketball standpoint only a fool would believe they are a team that have finals potential. In the next year or so they will get the players they need and will be in the position to contend for a championship. This is Magic and LeBron in LA. By hook or crook they will get it done.

I actually think they have a good shot at it in the next few years if the pieces fall together. If they sign a star or 2 and get a good group together and the Warriors fall apart, as in, lose Durant and one of Klay/Green, then all bets are off.

Maybe. But I think it's smart to wait and see from their perspective. You have to save every chip you can in case something crazy becomes available and the circumstances are right. 2nd tier or 3rd tier stars will always be available every year.

I also don't know if Ingram or Lonzo have lowered their value because I don't know the value to begin with. I think they are the same as people thought, so about the same value. None of them have exploded but the season is still young. It's hard to know young players potential sometimes. I feel like Lonzo especially would be better on a team where he is forced to do more and has to be more of a leader.
