LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dear LeBron,

Those Beats headphones you gifted to the OSU team helped them win the national title. Please gift some of those headphones to the Cavs too so that we can win some regular season games.

Your Sincerely

Cavalier Fan

I heard he gave them to both teams.

So Damon Jones really does follow LeBron everywhere he goes huh? It's actually kind of embarassing.

Why does he need to step up and be a leader? I thought Kyrie "The greatest thing since sliced bread" Irving was a better player and leader than LeBron. Yeah, LeBron was a career loser who managed to win multiple 50+ win seasons with trashy teammates, made multiple playoffs appearances with those trashy teammates of his and even made it all the way the the finals once. He's never been eliminated in the first round. Wake me up when your great Kyrie can manage to lead a team on his own to 45 wins and actually win a game in the playoffs.

2011 Finals.

And, I thought people would stop hating the man after this stretch of rubbish games by the rest of the roster yet you have managed to turn it all on LeBron. -_-

I wasn't a LeBrony before this season, and I'm not going to START being one now because the other guys are sucking. LeBron hasn't been "The Mythical LeBron James" for a sustained point in this season. I was 100% fine going forward with Kyrie/Wiggins/Bennett/Blatt before it all changed. If LeBron had figured into the plans earlier, maybe some of that would have been corrected beforehand and we wouldn't be in this mess. But that's the way it goes with free agency. This isn't "hate"; it just isn't "blind worship" which is what the "Trade Kyrie" crowd that has resurfaced is all but doing (if not actually doing). It's the same thing last season with Dion. And it took LeBron James being here for some of you to FINALLY see that Dion was not what the #4 draft and his own inconsistent effort tried to prove. I'm all for the team doing what is required to improve, including Kyrie. Trading him would be dumb, full stop.

Fact is, the Cavs didn't have to trade Wiggins. But that likely would not have happened w/o LeBron here.
LeBron has spent the last 4 years under a stable front office and full seasons with quality if not effective bigs and really good perimeter presence (which Wade provided).

Kyrie Irving has not. He spent a season trying to kick it to guys who kept missing, hesitating or just plain not even trying to get in position for the open shot. Since LeBron also has experience with both the suboptimal and a more optimal situation, he should know better than things like "Chill Mode" and what appears to be an undermining of the head coach. LeBron impacts the win total, but he also impacts in other ways, his biggest fans refuse to acknowledge. If he is to be the face of the franchise, he's going to get most of the heat (no pun intended).

Put it frankly: if this were the New York Knicks, who do you think would be blamed for the sorry state of the team? JR Smith? Iman Shumpert? Amare Stoudemire? Would the Lakers blame Jordan Hill?

That last part... KI is not to be blamed because he is on the level of those players?

2011 Finals.

It happened. I have no excuses for the way he performed in the finals that year. At least he's been to the finals multiple times. Again, wake me up when Kyrie "Greatest ever" Irving can lead a team on his own to make the playoffs. Four years in the league and he's still the same talented chucker who can't consistently win games nor understand how to bring the best impact out of his teammates.

Too many people on this board were Kyrie vs Dion people when we had dion. Dion has only been gone about a week and people are starting to turn this board into Kyrie vs LeBron? Really?

It's Kyrie AND LeBron. Their skill sets are complementary - LeBron is better playing on the ball and Kyrie is better playing off the ball. LeBron coming back will make Kyrie a better player. No one player wins championships by themselves.

This is true. LeBron has made the game much easier for Kyrie. Unfortunately I can't say the same the other way around. That will be Kyrie's next step. As LeBron ages Kyrie will have to make the game easier for him.

Kyrie needs to make the game easier for everyone, not just LeBron. He's a goddamn point guard.

He's a shooting guard. Not on paper, but by identity.

He's more like Kobe than he is Chris Paul in terms of style. In terms of mentality...tough to tell. Hasn't won a damn thing yet, but then again...neither has CP3.

No he isn't, he's an elite combo guard. People just need to stop expecting him to be strictly a PG.

That's all I'm trying to say. If Kyrie had the natural play-making ability to make the game easier for his teammates, then you'd see more guys actually putting more efforts on the defensive end because everyone is happy when they get fed on a consistent basis. Would it hurt the Cavs to see LeBron shooting close to 55% again from the field, Love shooting around 50% from field for first in his career as a big man, etc? Those are all good possibilities, but can only become a reality if the Cavs had another competent play-maker not named, LeBron.

He still can make others around him better its a quality and how you play. Marc Gasol makes others around him better and he plays center, Korver makes others around him play better just by running hard off of every screen set for him and hitting open shots thus some time getting teams to double commit to him. Kyrie has to bring something other than scoring to the table to be considered elite and be a good teammate. He can use his dribble to find others open and take more efficient shots at times move without the ball set screens run hard to get open on plays.

i've always wondered about this. he was mentioned a lot when he was in miami, too. jones only made $20M over his ~20yr career, which isn't exactly fuck-you money in the sports world. is he actually like a salaried "employee" of lebron or something? personal assistant (read: bitch)?
