And, I thought people would stop hating the man after this stretch of rubbish games by the rest of the roster yet you have managed to turn it all on LeBron. -_-
I wasn't a LeBrony before this season, and I'm not going to START being one now because the other guys are sucking. LeBron hasn't been "The Mythical LeBron James" for a sustained point in this season. I was 100% fine going forward with Kyrie/Wiggins/Bennett/Blatt before it all changed. If LeBron had figured into the plans earlier, maybe some of that would have been corrected beforehand and we wouldn't be in this mess. But that's the way it goes with free agency. This isn't "hate"; it just isn't "blind worship" which is what the "Trade Kyrie" crowd that has resurfaced is all but doing (if not actually doing). It's the same thing last season with Dion. And it took LeBron James being here for some of you to FINALLY see that Dion was not what the #4 draft and his own inconsistent effort tried to prove. I'm all for the team doing what is required to improve, including Kyrie. Trading him would be dumb, full stop.
Fact is, the Cavs didn't have to trade Wiggins. But that likely would not have happened w/o LeBron here.
LeBron has spent the last 4 years under a stable front office and full seasons with quality if not effective bigs and really good perimeter presence (which Wade provided).
Kyrie Irving has not. He spent a season trying to kick it to guys who kept missing, hesitating or just plain not even trying to get in position for the open shot. Since LeBron also has experience with both the suboptimal and a more optimal situation, he should know better than things like "Chill Mode" and what appears to be an undermining of the head coach. LeBron impacts the win total, but he also impacts in other ways, his biggest fans refuse to acknowledge. If he is to be the face of the franchise, he's going to get most of the heat (no pun intended).
Put it frankly: if this were the New York Knicks, who do you think would be blamed for the sorry state of the team? JR Smith? Iman Shumpert? Amare Stoudemire? Would the Lakers blame Jordan Hill?
