Well, that sucks. I'm an eternal optimist, though. Get two back home and make it a 3 game series. Bron responded, though. Damn.
They totally fell apart under adversity last night. Hard to watch for sure.
Just letting anyone know when they type about how they want LeBron gone to start over.
If LeBron leaves? That is the end of any championship this team will see for at least a generation of so.
When people type this thinking "Well! We can draft "x", "y" and "z"", then contend in the east!"
Not going to happen. When he leaves? We're done. No more national tv game, division titles, conference championships...and (without saying) no more chances at the O'Brien.
Done. You are now the Bucks, Pacers, Post-Jordan Bulls or any of those other teams that have been seemingly "lost" in the mediocre NBA wilderness.
NOW...I've accepted that because I don't have any other choice in the matter. But...I'd rather find ways to crack the window open just a little longer.
Again, I'm willing to (I say this while gnashing my teeth) put up with the drama because...that is the only way we will see this team relevant.
And when he leaves? (whenever that will be..) You had BETTER be ready to "trust the process" for a few years...because that tank will be on a monumental scale. I think Nance Jr. and a few others would be the only ones left on the roster at that point.
Again...You will be the Pacers/Bucks/Post-Jordan Bulls. LeBron is a generational figure. The odds of finding someone close to his abilities would be a miracle.
There was one contender this year, imo. I think the people who thought Houston could compete with Golden State were lying to themselves. They just wanted someone to take them down.I totally agree with you. Do you think we are back in it in 2 years? 3? 4? What is the Cavs path back to contention? I don't think the Cavs are contenders this year. There were 2 Houston and GS.
So, yeah the team has a top 3 all time player, but in the current climate it isn't enough. There were times wher eit looked like if they could just get their act together this team could do something. Can a coaching change and an added allstar do anything?

You'll be irrelevant for a decade.
Barring any set backs. That's how long you will be out of it before people start discussing you as a playoff "dark horse"
This is in a scenario where you find a great coach, draft well (better than fucking 8th overall), land on some Kyrie, Tristan and other type of figures in the draft.
Even then? The odds of hoisting another banner are quite slim because this is how the NBA is designed.
Because you need a Magic, Bird, Jordan, Olajuwon, Duncan, Shaq, Kobe, Garnett, Kobe, LeBron, or Durant type of figure to pull that off.
And those are...unicorns. You have to be a bad team, at the right time, and right place. Otherwise you're stuck with Anthony Bennett instead.
Eh, you're saying all this like it was never an inevitability. We all knew that this was eventually the price the franchise was going to pay for "going all in", and we were totally okay with it...it's just looking like a reality a tad sooner than you hoped/expected.You'll be irrelevant for a decade.

Most surmised when this shit came together that we had a 3-5 year window, and we're right smack dab in the middle of it. Of course we'd all like to extend this shit if possible, but the bleak reality is that at best we're contending for a distant 2nd place.
We can try to kick the can down the road depending on what LeBron wants to do, but if this is it, it was a great run.
Why are you using an article from November 20th? Yeah, LeBron slacks during the regular season. Why wouldn't he? He knows that we'll need 40 point triple doubles from him come postseason to even have a chance of advancing.Maybe he needs to play a little more D.

Yup. They all sure love knobbing Durant don’t they?I hate the media. Kevin Durant goes for 37/3/1 on the most stacked team in NBA history and they all blow their loads. LeBron goes for 42/12/10 and he gets shit for it. Stupid people, man.
