Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wow, thanks man. My heart is full seeing that this idea has got nothing but positive reactions.

This idea sucks. You think a stupid billboard will stop Bron to have to pay all those tax dollars in Cleveland. You think this billboard will make Cleveland a bigger/better city than new york. NO.

I donated my first 10 dollars (I'll be splitting my donations between this and Obama for a bit).

Oh crap.

Actually, that would pretty much cover your expenses Glen. :chuckles:

I went around a bunch of myspace groups and posted a link to my cavs group, 2,000 members almost in it, so hopefully people will look at the site.

Thanks for the support. :thumbdown

I'll donate something, but I'd like to see the proposed billboard first.

Something else cool you could do would be to put together a video mix tape of LeBron highlights from the RCF archives - unless there'd be copyright issues ...

Seeing that I haven't figured that out yet. We do have almost 2 years to come up with something to say, I'd like to hear everyone's ideas honestly.

Once we have say... 5 good ideas, we can put up a poll and vote on which one we should go with.

I'm not trying to rush you or the process. I'd just want some idea what my money was going towards.

As for ideas, I'm not sure the bill board has to say in big bold letters "LEBRON WE LOVE YOU - PLEASE DON"T LEAVE US - SIGNED YOUR FANS".

Something artistic and cool will get attention, and once word gets around how the billboard was sponsored and why - the message will be clear.

A sign begging him to stay would seem kind of pathetic. A sign celebrating what he and the team means to us .. to the city would not. By the way, I emphasized team, because team is important to LeBron. The key would be connecting the things LeBron feels are important with the things we the fans feel are important.

That's the direction I would go, alas I have no artistic skills.

I suppose it might even matter what he and the team have accomplished at the time we want to run the billboard. For instance, encouraging him to finish the job and win the O'Brien may appeal to him. However, if he's already won one an angle might be to encourage him to want to win more.

Another approach would be to emphasize his roots and family in the Cleveland/Akron area. In another city, he'd just be another sports superstar. Here he can put "King of OH" on his license plate and not even garner a snicker because he means that much to the area.

That's a good point Jon. Our intent is not to sound like a bunch of whiney kids begging for LeBron to stay. I basically would like the billboard to be plain red with gold letters. Something along the lines of the God billboards (Which was Mandingo's idea). For those of you who haven't seen them, here's an example.

you suck :jerkoff:

Glen I agree 100%. It needs to be something you have to think about for a split second, not some "Please stay".

Something like "330 never leaves the soul." Something along those lines that shows Cleveland is his hometown. And I might as well enter that as my idea haha.

Something like "330 never leaves the soul."

Wouldn't that make him feel better about leaving? Saying that even if he leaves, the 330 will still be with him? :chuckles:

I'm thinking something like "Little Maximus should grow up in the town of Maximus. C-town, baby! :headbang:"
But, we need the headbang thing or it won't work.

I have to agree with Jon. Something a bit creative and well thought out with sincerity, but nothing like "please don't leave."

It is nice to have the luxury of some time to come up with a creative idea. I think I will schedule 30 minutes a day on my Outlook calendar to brainstorm some ideas. If anyone else would like an invite let me know and I will send it out along with a conference number ;)
