Let's talk defense!

I'm curious about @BimboColesHair's opinion on the defensive coaching problem after tonight's game. At some point there has to be accountability... you don't play LeBron for almost 40 minutes in games like tonight if you're just experimenting.

Bogut is an elite interior defender.

JR is a plus perimeter defender.

Love has actually been a solid defender this year as well, much much better than Channing.

We're missing some huge components of our D, we're playing with some brand new people, and it's the regular season.

I'd like to see us have a few good games start to finish, on that end, though. Just to remind the guys that we can, indeed, get stops.

The Cavs have only held 4 opponents under 100 points in 2017. In comparison, they held 16 opponents under 100 points during the same span in 2016.

This is nothing new, and it won't be solved by Bogut or JR. It's a team issue that has been present virtually all season.

I think we'll be fine when Bogut replaces TT and JR smith comes back, Love is also a better perimenter defender than Frye although I do hate his stat padding Minnesota habits of positioning for rebounds instead of contesting shots at the rim, I really hope he won't do that in the playoffs though

With the lady tonight, so didn't get a chance to watch. Have to re-watch later. But right away I am drawn to 14 TOs, 30 FTs given up, and the very high amount of possessions for both teams...looks like it was a very, very fast paced game with lazy defense from both sides.

It's bad. It's been bad all season. It shows no signs of improving.

We can use all the excuses we want: injuries, new players, lack of interest, Longabardi, etc. But at some point, the excuses need to stop. It was not nearly this bad going into the playoffs last year. Expecting a switch to be flipped in the playoffs is dangerous.

You mean like subs in for TT? Or are you actually thinking he's going to replace him in the starting line-up?

50 dollar donation bet to RCF right now that Bogut does not become the starter for the Cavs. Never in a million years are they gonna make a guy here for 20 games the starter over a guy who has the been the starter for almost 2 seasons now, is under contract for multiple years, and making big money.

Who cares about any of that, Bogut is a better Center than Tristan. Its not about contracts or egos its about doing whats right for the team, and Bogut fits better with the starting five next to Love and Kyrie.

I don't think Bogut will start right away but eventually come playoff time I def think Bogut will be the starter in some of the series

And I'm saying there's no shot they are gonna bench a dude making 16 million a year, that started for the championship team last season, and replace him with a guy who is gonna join the team for the final 20 games of the season and leave next season.

I'm all about whats best for the team right now and starting Bogut is exactly that. I literally give zero fucks about how much Tristan makes or what happened last year.

I'd worry about Tristan feelings next season because his rim protection is awful and were ranked #20 in defense with this guy being the "anchor" of the defense (which is the most important position on the defensive side), i'll take the guy ranked 3rd in DRPM in the NBA and a great passer and screen setter over him anyday of the week next to Kyrie and Love.

Also T.T was never intended to be the starting center anyway, Mozgov was injured and had a bad operation and that led to starting Tristan because we had nobody else, he never had any problems coming off the bench as he stated multiple times that he doesn't care and that hes a work horse.

You make benching a dude sound like hes about to be cut out of the rotation, he'll still get plenty of PT lol, but we'll see how this plays out, either way its great that we have options right now can't wait to see this team fully healthy
