LeBron James once gave Grizzlies coach David Fizdale a very generous wedding gift

According to Fizdale, James really does care about everyone from the head coach to the guy on the end of the bench.

One way James showed his appreciation was gifts.

“I don’t know how many times I came into the office and there was a gift on our desk from LeBron because he’d get so much free crap,” Fizdale said on the show. “I never got so many Christmas gifts in my life. He would do stuff like that for no reason. That was the part I will always remember about him, the things he would do for us.”

To illustrate his point, Fizdale told a story about when James gave him a role in a Samsung commercial as a wedding gift when he married his wife, Natasha.

“He put me in a commercial once as a wedding gift,” Fizdale said. “How about that? Because I said, ‘Don’t get me anything.’ Instead of him listening, he says, ‘Hey coach, why don’t you be in the Samsung commercial with me?’ You know, that’s a nice little check for an assistant coach. And [the card] says, ‘Hey man, congratulations on your wedding.’ ”

Other cool stuff -- I knew LBJ did this , but I didn't realize how much money was involved:

James also has a reputation for being generous to the community around him. He’s donated $41 million in scholarships for students to attend the University of Akron.

So, that's really nice and all, and I'm sure it was appreciated, but was it really the best use of $41M? By my calculations, he could instead have bought 82,282 pairs of BIg Baller shoes, and made at least one guy really, really happy!:

His yellow teeth are literally the same color as the inside of the shoe!

Well, if the only thing it takes to get rich is making an ass out of yourself, he should do fine. But from what I've seen in the world, there are a lot of poor assholes.

Oh, he can make money by gravy-training off his own kid, appropriating money for himself that could be Lonzo's. But he's not going to make truly big money on his own.

No, I mean.. he's already very well off. He's not poor, and never has been as far as I know.

I agree that his becoming a multi-millionaire will be because of his children's talents, but, they probably feel that they're paying back on whatever talent he's given them.. Kind of like Kyrie stated..

Well.. as someone living in Los Angeles; there would be a riot if Ball isn't picked by the Lakers if he falls to them. The kid is a local favorite, and people out here are looking at him as the immediate franchise player to lead the team moving forward.

Ball being drafted by the Lakers, if he falls to them, will be a huge deal out here and he's going to have a great many L.A. endorsements coming his way .. like, ridiculously so.. especially if the Clippers start a rebuild.

If this turns out to be the case, then yes, it might make him despicable .. that is, if it means his own enrichment over his children. They may have all agreed to share in their wealth collectively, the 4 of them, regardless of their individual contribution? I'm really not sure what the financial dynamic will be, but I would be shocked if Lonzo ceded anywhere close to the majority of his money to his father.

I think we are assuming allot about LaVar we really dont know.

The rumor about not seeing the mom is horrible, but just a rumor.

He is a loud mouth for sure, but that doesnt mean he is a bad dad, we really dont know how he treats the kids.

What I do know is LaVar is winning because he is being constantly talked about and that is what he wants.
