Lonzo Ball

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nevermind, you're in a small minority of liking BBB.

Lavar is a saint. He does no wrong. He will beat Jordan in a 1on1.

Interesting. All I asked was for you to explain what exactly did Lavar Ball do. Clearly you must realize that whatever it is that has you hating him is a bunch of nothing. If not than tell me what it is.

@gourimoko

Read the tone of this post. Particularly the part about Lavar being an outspoken idiot who shouldn't be in his position in the first place. Sure this has nothing to do with Lavar being black at all......

And what position is he in? Why the fuck do we even know Lavar Ball? Because he talks a bunch of shit out of his ass that even he doesn't believe to get people's attention.

Now, it's not only his fault. The fact that the media talks about him 24/7 is embarassing.

Damn Lavar just said if you're struggling financially, you can't make it big.

And what position is he in? Why the fuck do we even know Lavar Ball? Because he talks a bunch of shit out of his ass that even he doesn't believe to get people's attention.

Now, it's not only his fault. The fact that the media talks about him 24/7 is embarassing.
He also talked shit about LeBron and his family, had a whole scandal about not letting the three boys see their sick mom, and has offended numerous people who have done lots of good thing for society and the game.

What evidence is there that he's ruining his kids reputation? Everyone says this yet there is nothing to prove that. I have only seen people speak highly of Lonzo Ball both on and off the court. So what exactly is Lavar Ball ruining?

And yes him being black has a lot to do with it. Much like people who culdn't stop talking shit about Cam because he dances yet don't have shit to say when Gronk throws a Girls Gone Wild cruise boat party. It's the same as when people say they hate Floyd yet praise Connor McGregor. If Lavar Ball was white people would be calling him a savvy businessman but instead everyone thinks his like the worst dad ever and it has not had any effect on his kids.

If Lavar Ball was white saying that he could dominate Michael Jordan one on one, getting his kids high school coach fired, not letting his kids see their mom when she's sick, and putting an extraordinary amount of pressure on his sons by making unrealistic comparisons to superstar NBA players ...best believe people would be calling him a fucking piece of shit too.

In a social media age where parents get grilled for everything they do when they fuck up, I've seen an awful lot of white parents get killed for their actions.

Race has nothing to do with bad parenting. This is just bad parenting.

What evidence is there that he's ruining his kids reputation? Everyone says this yet there is nothing to prove that.

The shit he says is outrageous bro..

Let me go down a list of things that he's said pulled from the first page of Google that I take exception to:

“I’ve been coaching them all their lives. I’ve instilled something in them that you can’t take out. Like, ‘No shot is a bad shot.’ ”

“If Charles thought like me, maybe he’d win a championship.”

“My son will only play for the Lakers.”

Then this doozy:
“You got LeBron, it’s gonna be so hard for his kids, cause they gonna look at them like ‘you gotta be just like your dad.’ ”

“All three of my boys are going to be one-and-done.”

“A billion dollars, it has to be there. That’s our number, a billion, straight out of the gate. And you don’t even have to give it to me all up front. Give us $100 mil over 10 years.”

“I’ll tell you right now, he’s better than Steph Curry to me.”

“To me ‘Zo is the best player in the world. … I don’t know if he can beat (LeBron James and Russell Westbrook) one on one, but I know he can beat them 5 on 5.”

“Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one.”

“Lonzo and LiAngelo each drive $100,000 BMWs.”

I have only seen people speak highly of Lonzo Ball both on and off the court. So what exactly is Lavar Ball ruining?

His son's reputation. His son is a grown man. What happens when a LeBron James comes up to him and says "we're peers now, so I'm gonna tell you and not your father; tell your father to keep my kids name out his fucking mouth."

Does Lonzo just say "okay, I'll tell him..." I doubt it.. More likely than not, he'll stand by his dad, regardless of the irate nature of his comments. This will damage relationships, needed relationships, in a league of close business ties.

Shitting on Nike, for what?

What if LaVar isn't the business genius he thinks he is? What if Nike is a better option than LaVar representing his son? How is it that LaVar is even involved in this anyway?

It's like he's trained a horse or bred a dog, and is now taking him to the show. As a parent, I find it disturbing and offensive.

And yes him being black has a lot to do with it.

I .. just don't see how when so many Black people are criticizing him regularly.

Much like people who culdn't stop talking shit about Cam because he dances yet don't have shit to say when Gronk throws a Girls Gone Wild cruise boat party.

I know what you mean.

It's the same as when people say they hate Floyd yet praise Connor McGregor.

:chuckle:

I definitely know what you mean...

If Lavar Ball was white people would be calling him a savvy businessman but instead everyone thinks his like the worst dad ever and it has not had any effect on his kids.

I... I honestly don't think so bro.. It could be a factor for some, but as I said before, I fully think he's damaging his son's reputation, and being a Black man, and a father, I think the way he treats his sons as commodities to be traded for his own enrichment and self-aggrandizement .. it's disgusting...

Again man, I'm asking.. and I'm listening.. what am I missing?

If Lavar Ball was white saying that he could dominate Michael Jordan one on one, getting his kids high school coach fired, not letting his kids see their mom when she's sick, and putting an extraordinary amount of pressure on his sons by making unrealistic comparisons to superstar NBA players ...best believe people would be calling him a fucking piece of shit too.

Race has nothing to do with bad parenting. This is just bad parenting.

His kids don't have a problem with his "bad parenting". His wife doesn't have a problem with it. His son is going to be a top 5 pick. His family is building their own brand. They are in control of their business and products. The only people who seem to have a problem with his parenting are those on the outside and honestly it's none of our business when it comes to that. All of the things people list as to reasons why they don't like him are petty as fuck.

Because he thinks he can beat MJ 1 on 1? So people should hate him? He thinks his kids are going to be better than some of the greatest players ever? That warrants hate. He talks shit. People don't like it. So the fuck what. He literally said if you can;t afford his shoes then they aren't for you. That's no different than any expensive clothing item. Why is he receiving extra backlash for it? Because he talks shit?

He hasn't broken any laws or harmed anyone. The worst thing he's done is talk shit yet people are praying for their downfall. That's what you call being a hater period.

I've never seen someone who valued themselves more than their children than this guy... He's ruining his children's reputation with everything that he does.

It's just such a shame...

True. But as train wrecks go, we haven't really seen one like this before.

:popc1:

Because he thinks he can beat MJ 1 on 1? So people should hate him?

I think it's that people dislike seeing someone exploit their children... I live just a 15-25 minute drive from Hollywood. I know people who try to exploit the fuck out of their kids by taking them to every possible audition imaginable when the kid has no interest.. It's not about the kids, it's about the parent. And that's gross.

With that said, he seems to have no limits of decency with respect to the shit the comes out of his mouth; i.e., talking about LeBron's kids. Like, dude, really? Then saying "whatchu gonna do?" It's like.. man.. seriously? Guy tells you to not talk about his kids and you double-down, then say "whatchu gonna do" like you can seriously fight LeBron James in the street?

I gotta tell you man... If we're talking about the nature of being Black in America; then LaVar Ball does himself no favors by demonstrating himself to be among the worst examples of it.. It's .. buffoonery.. plain and simple. Spewing shit into any microphone that's put into his face, thinking he needs to create publicity for his kids, even at the expense of both his and his children's reputation. They don't need a Don King, nor should he look to emulate Mike Tyson's former promoter.

@gourimoko

Read the tone of this post. Particularly the part about Lavar being an outspoken idiot who shouldn't be in his position in the first place. Sure this has nothing to do with Lavar being black at all......

If he were white, and blamed black athletes for the reason his son's team got beat, he'd be getting crucified for saying that.

His comments clearly came off racist. He didn't just say players, he had to mention race.

I can't believe this jackass would have the nerve to throw his son's teammates/classmates under the bus like that, let alone he actually had to single out those that are 'white'.

I wasn't offended, but it does make him come off as first-world jackass.

And yes him being black has a lot to do with it. Much like people who culdn't stop talking shit about Cam because he dances yet don't have shit to say when Gronk throws a Girls Gone Wild cruise boat party.

Gee, I never would have guessed who would have brought race into this....

Johnny Manziel should be glad he's white, because otherwise, everybody would have mocked him mercilessly for the stupid crap he did and he'd be out of the league. And then there's that utter buffoon Chad Kelly, except nobody calls him out on it because he's white, and he gets drafted in the second round instead of going undrafted like he should have. And then there's Trump. Again, nobody says shit about him because he's white. Or at least orange. But nobody has ever had shit to say about any of them because they're white. Right?

The only people who seem to have a problem with his parenting are those on the outside and honestly it's none of our business when it comes to that.

You're wrong there also. Lavar Bell has made a deliberate effort to make this about him. And when it comes to things like shoes, part of the attraction is the image they present. so when Laver Bell puts out $495 shoes, he is actually hoping that he's conveying an image that will make people want to buy them.

When you put yourself out there in the spotlight deliberately so that people will judge you, you've got no cause to bitch if it turns out they judge you differently than you might expect. It's like women who put all these pictures of themselves out on Instagram to show off, and claim that "nobody has the right to judge me." Well, yes we do -- you put those pictures out there for exactly that reason.

And that's the same thing with Lavar Bell. He is deliberately trying to cultivate a specific image for himself and his sons to try to make money off it. And implying, as you do, that we're not supposed to judge him for anything he does is actually the exact opposite of what he really wants.

The only difference is that he think he's a trendsetting genius, and most of the rest of the country thinks he's an a-hole.

I'm not one of the people praying for his downfall. I love the way Lonzo plays and am excited to watch him play in the NBA. If his other kids are as exciting to watch as Lonzo, I'll watch them too.

But I also have a feeling that with the amount of public pressure he's putting on Lonzo and his other sons, that it's all going to crash and burn if Lonzo isn't an absolute superstar to drive the brand. And then what happens to Lonzo and his brothers if they fail? Does he still love them if there's no brand? He's benefiting from them after all. Without them, he is nothing. With them...he's Don King.

As far as your confidence that his wife and kids don't have a problem with his parenting...that's your opinion. Mine is that it's shitty parenting to pressure your kid like that publicly, get their coach fired and keep them away from their mom. I also think it's presumptuous to think a teenage kid would say anything to a man with a personality like that if they DID have a problem with his parenting.

Gee, I never would have guessed who would have brought race into this....

I don't get it - Lonzo Ball is half-black, half-white. Does his white half cost him games?

You need to tell me how you do that multi-quote thingy or this isn't a fair fight. :chuckle:

The only thing he's done or said that was out of line was his comment on LeBron and his kids. Even then I knew what point he was trying to make but he totally fucked up the way he expressed that one and it was dumb. Other than that that whole first part you brought up is just shit talking. Like seriously it's just talk. The only difference is his shit talking is being broadcast for everyone to see and hear it. That's not all on Lavar Ball. That's also on the media who continue to give him a platform.

The next part about ruining his kids reputation I disagree with. By all accounts people like Lonzo Ball. His teammates, coaches, and players in the NBA have said nothing but nice things about him. In fact more people feel sorry for Lonzo because of Lavar so I don't think Lonzo is going to get confronted by NBA players who want to have "problems" with him or his dad. That's between said player and his father Lavar but I just don't see players taking it there.

The last part about race I think is a huge factor. I see people bring up the fact that other black folks have problems with him to. That's not surprising since there's always been a crab mentality in our community (I am obviously black) and you can feel the jealousy and hate in a lot of responses towards Lavar especially from black folks. Also the Cam Newton reference I brought up speaks for itself.
