The bracket is all set:

#7-Bowling Green
#10-Northern Illinois Winner plays #2 Western Michigan

#6-Akron
#11-Eastern Michigan Winner plays #3 Miami

#8-Buffalo
#9-Central Michigan Winner plays #1 Kent State

#5-Ohio
#12-Toledo Winner plays #4 Ball State

Action starts Tuesday!

My Predictions:

1st Round - Bowling Green over Northern Illinois, Akron over Eastern Michigan, Buffalo over Central Michigan, Ohio over Toledo

2nd Round - Western Michigan over Bowling Green, Akron over Miami, Buffalo over Kent State, Ohio over Ball State

3rd Round - Akron over Western Michigan, Ohio over Buffalo

Final - Ohio over Akron

Some random thoughts...

- Akron has to be happy with their bracket. The toughest matchup before the final is Miami, who they should be able to beat. They match up well with the Redhawks, as well as Western Michigan and Bowling Green. Their worst matchups - Ohio, Kent State, and Buffalo - are all on the other side of the bracket.

- For being a #1 seed, Kent State will have a tough road. Buffalo is a tough one, as is a potential matchup with Ohio. If they get past those two, they probably get Akron or Miami, another tough matchup either way.

- Ohio gets a pretty favorable road. Toledo will be a gimme and Ball State shouldn't be a problem. They shouldn't get seriously tested until the semi-finals.

- I hope my prediction is wrong and Akron beats OU...it's just not a good matchup for the Zips though. With Keith Dambrot though, I'd bet that it'd be a hell of a game.

I guess you have to go to a Mac school before getting excited. :)

I went to BGSU and even though our men's team hasn't had the same success our women's team has had over the recent years, I is still had a good time. I also have been to a few championship games and will echo smg405's electric atmosphere. Anyways, I predicted Miami(OH) to win the MAC Tourney and still think they can pull threw. The one downer with the conference is the two divisions are black and white from each other. One year, the West division winner had a losing record in the MAC and had the two seed (division winners automatically get top two seeds). The best part about this tournament is that it is completely wide open for a couple of teams to win.

I could definitely see Miami as the champ...I think whoever wins the (likely) Miami/Akron matchup will make the final.

MAC West has never been very good at basketball, football they seem to be able to hold their own better at.

Better then being a front running OSU fan, who has no ties to the school at all. :)

Agreed on that...I'd take Akron, Kent, Ohio, Miami, Buffalo, and even Bowling Green most years over any MAC West team.

Fellow MAC fans, let's hear some predictions!

For those that don't know. All the games except the 'ship (ESPN has the rights) will be on STO.

#6-Akron
#3 Miami

#8-Buffalo
#1 Kent State

#5-Ohio

Remember folks, this is what Cavs games could look like. HD is beautiful, isn't it FoxSportsOhio?

Looks like it could be a Akron Vs. Kent finals. That'd be a huge draw considering how close both schools are.

Miami looked worked at the end of the game. Kudos to Akron for finishing what they started.

Akron wins, in the championship game for a record fifth straight year. Sadly for the Zips, just one victory so far.
