Magic Mushrooms?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
My wife and i do the pellets, for guys its every 6 months. My drive was normal but the other issues we had in common. It costs 350 every six months.

I notices more mental awareness, weight loss specifically in the stomach area, faster recoveries from workouts, better quality sleep and a lot more energy. Along with the increased libido that I didn't necessarily need but its been fun. Everything you described screamed low T to me. I have several friends who either do shots or pellets. All of them and myself swear by them.

My T fluctuates. Sometimes it's really low, and sometimes it's normal. At least the Total T. I do not know why. But my last blood work was my lowest.

I know for a fact that dopamine is connected with testosterone. I also know that my symptoms could be low T.

My issue is that where I live, the options are quite limited, and doctors do not want to treat you unless you have real medical problem (I.E pituitary or testicles). It doesn't seem like I have an issue with either. So I thought that perhaps I should be ordering it online, but it seems cumbersome.

I also thought about supplementing HGH, or something similar. It is clear I suffer from some kind of malfunctions that is connected to the dopaminergic system.

Honestly, I just want to be focused again, and have a good sense of wellbeing. Whatever it is. I just know SSRIs and the likes is not the answer to my problems.

Have not done mushrooms and I do not intend to clog up the conversation. Just an addition....

The insights people are describing or seeking go along with spiritual awakening. Look it up if you’re not familiar. If you are, some of this might make sense.

Psychedelics are one option to offer awakening. And certainly one that we were intended to use. DMT is the one that has been calling me, as mushrooms have some things that don’t match up with what I’m looking for at this point.

Daily meditation can offer the breakthrough insights and ego dissolution that are being described as well. There also seems to be some timing and destiny involved with awakening, as they seem to be precipitated by extremely jarring life events. Given some reflection, the moments that lead up to them often seem hilariously perfectly timed. They transform the way you look at the world completely and can make you feel like/become a completely different person than when you began the journey.

The ego dissolution that you may already be researching or that some have described directly or indirectly can be absolutely terrifying because some believe they have died at the moment it happens. It is the first step to finding the new “you” and recognizing your place in the world. It will be the ignition in your mind that refuses to allow you to do anything other than what you exist to do.

Good luck with whatever direction you end up going.

Back to shrooms.

If you can find someone who does the pellets with in 2 hours of you, Id suggest you go check it out. its one appointment every 6 months might be inconvenient but it works. Find you a low t clinic.

Nice topic, as anxiety has wrecked me the last several years...and it sucks being in high-performing software sales roles. Have had several noticeable physical reactions (shivering and sweating at the same time, face going pale, forgetting everything/lose train of thought, etc). I've tried anti-depressants but those don't work for me, and my GP thought they would be the shit cuz they work on everyone else. Trying a new med as of a month ago, so we'll see how that goes. Also, have tried CBD for the first time 2 weeks ago (take a 1 mg drop every evening).

Have gained some control, but the fear of this is it rearing its ugly head at an inopportune time in the future. Things were much simpler in my 20s and 30s....now that I'm 45, I need to be cognizant of all kinds of things wrt my body. On top of that, I need to perform in my job....or I'm gone. Happened before the pandemic....and am in a new gig now after 18 months off. Very open to trying treatments like this, so I'll be following....

Thanks to everyone for sharing in this thread....

Great conversation.

Something I’ve always wanted to try but sort of steered clear of for a few reasons. One of the reasons is I loathe throwing up. Id Always heard puking was common as the journey began an a shroom trip. Is that true or just urban myth? And if it is true, does that bear out the same for microdosing? Or does taking the smaller doses sort of eliminate that as an issue?
I have done mushrooms at some level for decades, with some gaps as long as a couple of years, and never
have vomited because of it. However, I have only taken fresh mushrooms, not dried or powders. Taste
isn't great but manageable . I have friends who used dried mushrooms to make sun tea and that seems
good too.

The people who usually have bad mushroom experiences are those who go into it thinking it is
a party type thing instead of a spiritual journey.

Good luck. I suggest you read the mushroom chapter in the Michael Pollan book 'How to Change
Your Mind'. This man experimented with several mind altering substances, all as a senior citizen
for the first time. One of his conclusions is that the mushrooms changed his conception of
reality.

If we are talking psychedelics I've always preferred acid to mushrooms. Especially when it came to microdosing. Shrooms take me too deep sometimes, which is fun and sometimes not so fun.

Regardless like everyone said, have a buddy you trust that has experience and you'll be A-OK.

I've always felt mushrooms were safer than acid due to source issues. Mushrooms
are a living thing, not something created in a lab. I don't know about now, but back
in the day the danger was getting acid cut with speed and/or strychnine. With mushrooms,
you are only getting the substances from the plant. Purity is a good thing.

That said, the good acid will kick your butt to the moon and back again. I got
spoiled from taking acid after having access to LSD in college that came from
Kesey, one of the participants in the infamous Harvard Psychedelic Research Project
in the early 60s. In the early 70s, he held some Renaissance Fairs on his farm outside of Eugene during which
volunteers roamed the crowd dispensing sheets(about 100 hits per ) of acid. One square and you were GONE. Added
bonus was the Grateful Dead were the house band.

I figured that was the best experience possible and haven't gone that way in decades.

BTW- a book, 'The Electric Kool-Aid Test' by Tom Wolfe is a wild, but accurate look at Kesey, LSD and
the Magic Bus.

My experiences are limited but no you probably won't throw up. There is a sick feeling/queasiness on the come up, but once you get through that it's pleasant (assuming you've put yourself in a good environment with the right people). Beforehand I was warned of the vomit potential, but knew I wanted to stay strong as my understanding is that it'll waste a lot of what you ingested.

Love the discussion in here and feel similarly to a lot of thoughts. Even though I haven't made drastic life changes from the experience, it gave me new ways of looking at myself and my place in the world. You get to a place of self-awareness that is hard to achieve when you're going through life day to day. And some of it is weird, like realizing that your digestive system is a constant process between interconnected organs and not a compartmentalized task in the bathroom (strangest shit I've ever taken). It also made me appreciate my friends and loved ones more.

I'm curious about acid but I've always been more scared of it than mushrooms.

As several others have emphasized, don't try these things by yourself.

I sweat and feel a little queasy. Never thrown up.

They actually say shrooms can help with Alzheimer's disease... So my guess is, in the right dosage/usage it can be beneficial to people who have certain issues stemming from brain imbalances that effect the mental side of your life. I wish researchers would put more time into these types of things since it could be really beneficial to a lot of people. So I am not advocating to take them, but if you have issues from chemical imbalances in the brain and other stuff hasn't worked, then it's very possible they could for you.

I had a great time doing them in college (tried them like 3 or 4 times). Definitely be in a good environment with people you trust and you should be fine. I always put my shrooms in a cup with orange juice (someone told me that drinking orange with it helps with the trip.. no idea if that's true, but it was college so I did it) and that kinda helped keep it down. You definitely have to get past the queasy phase, because those suckers dont taste great and can be hard to keep down. Once you keep them down, sit back and relax. I never watched Parks and Recs before, but when I thought the trip was going bad, I put that randomly on tv and my mood shifted. I was so happy and couldn't stop smiling. I forgot all the stress I felt and just felt relaxed.

Sometimes you need to get away from stress and just relax so even though I don't do any drugs, if people do drugs that don't have any actual side effects for the body in small amounts, I think it can help you feel better in the end.

The other times I just did it for fun :chuckle:. Playing call of duty zombies was quite challenging.

I know a guy who took them and in a short matter of time put on a VR headset and played a boxing game and some racing game and his house looked like a tsunami hit it twice....Good luck to those that partake but those days have passed me by...
