I find them fascinating, but I've always been too chicken to try.
Closest I've come to something like that is Ketamine, they use it for pain in the hospital sometimes.
THAT is trippy. It can go good or bad too, I've been fortunate to never have it go bad, but I had a nurse who shook while giving it to me because she'd had it and had a horrible experience. Are you incapacitated on those? I know they're making great breakthroughs in depression w/ Ketamine and mushroom's. Ketamine basically reset my depression for me when they used it for pain. I was on a 3 day drip of it and at the end, I came off all my depressant drugs. It felt like a religious experience, honestly.
I think functionality will vary in rather pronounced fashion based on dose. I took a quarter of mushrooms in one sitting when I was a junior in college and experienced the most terrifying 8 hours of my life. A flight of stairs looked like it was a half-mile long; rooms were shaded bright colors and the intensity of my thought processing was not manageable. Visual hallucinations, profound fear, rapid thought processing and drastically thoughts for a sustained period of time brings forth quite a challenge.
as awful as that sounds, it was probably the most effective experience for me personally. But you can microcode and be very functional socially albeit I don’t recommend public outings on them in any capacity.
