Marcus No Dunks Given Morris

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Is he a bad locker room guy or just a guy that doesn’t smile gets into with other players and plays tough bully ball? I don’t need to like him or want to have a beer with the guy, but they’ve been around a long time, can’t be too bad in locker room.

He’s not a bad locker room but he is known to “lay the wood” to opponents. Which I like. The Cavs need that kind of player! We haven’t had one since the days of Lonnie Shelton and/or Tyrone Hill. I’m not advocating for flagrant fouls but he doesn’t up easy layups!
He’ll make people think when they are driving inside!

Is he the good one?

Good move either way. Our team is too “nice.” And we need frontcourt help with Mobley out.

Koby has been adding as many guys that have cajones this season to counteract their lack last of such year. The Knicks blatantly showed repeatedly we had nobody who would nut up on the boards last playoffs.

Skill & wits alone can only carry you so far. Come the playoffs having grit becomes essential. Hopefully this time around we'll be on the correct side of some postseason "Bully Ball"

Just having some guys to come off the bench who can't be pushed off their spot will be an upgrade. For all their warts TT, Niang and Morris provide some options that we just didn't have last year. JA and Mobley aren't wimps or soft, they just aren't built to bang for position and it's not their forte. Players with more lower body and core strength, as well as good fundamental basketball skills for boxing out, just get under their center of gravity and win their positioning fights. JA and Mobley are built for going over the top and moving through space, not for pushing and shoving.

Kevin Love would have been extremely useful and he could have helped counter some of the advantages the Knicks had in the last playoffs. TT, Niang and now Morris have the center of gravity, strength, and skillset in getting and holding position that guys like JA and Mobley may never have. Mix one or 2 of them in when needed and hopefully it can be a counter to our guys getting pushed off their spots. Morris has to be guarded when he goes to the perimeter as well, one more outside shooting option.

Overall, good signing for the Cavs, IMO. The Morris bros. are known for their toughness. They can be jerks, but I don't think the Cavs culture will let Marcus go overboard. He'll likely just bring them some needed no-BS type of mentality, which I agree will help keep them from being bullied as much by teams like the Knicks.

If he doesn't get minutes with Evan and Dean out, our 10 day policies are just odd. I want to see some toxic stuff from whichever Morris bro we signed. Towards the opponents...

Even if he never plays, I like this signing. Every team needs an s.o.b. to have the edge needed to win in the ultra competitive world o the NBA playoffs. We have nice guys for the most part. Morris is an unquestioned s.o.b. with tons of experience. I think it helps.

Just for some perspective, dare you to do a reddit search on Marcus. You'll get a billion results from people of all fan bases talking about how he provides nothing in this stage of his career, with a thousand up votes each comment.

Whenever I think of Marcus Morris I think of the below

Throw your elbow and miss and then use a ball to hit the opponent in the head
