Embargo on spoilers in here until Monday?

I'm guessing most people who care enough to visit this thread will see it sometime this weekend.
One of these 2 options. I say make an Infinity War spoilers thread. Then, after a few weeks, all MCU stuff comes back here.

I was thinking the same . I won't see it until Saturday and I know I won't be able to resist clicking on here

IIRC when I created the thread Civil War had just come out, which is why I put the spoiler tags in the title.

If a mod would like to remove it, that'd be great.

What does everyone think of the new Venom trailer? Venom is was my favorite villain growing up (still is). Just wondering how they’re going to do this with no Spider-Man. Just seems weird. Though Tom Hardy makes me Hardy

I'm skeptical as fuck bro... What is Venom without Spider-Man?

Venom's identity comes from Peter Parker -- the lust of the symbiote and the hatred from Eddie Brock; the rejection and the inferiority complex...

They're obviously removing that as a driving force for Venom; which, is an interesting idea -- but not one that I'm thrilled about.

Venom is Spider-Man's deadliest foe, IMHO. So making him into an anti-hero first, seems like a bad move to me. It nullifies what makes Venom terrifying to Spider-Man...

I look forward to watching it when it comes out on video so I can put the subtitles on and actually understand what Tom Hardy is mumbling.

Well atleast we have Tom Hardy and not "that 70s Venom"

Yeah it’s not making much sense to me

It really is a shame we've never gotten a proper Venom on screen given that we're now at six Spider-Man movies. It shouldn't be this fucking hard to properly adapt a great villain.

I am curious as to whether Marvel would be allowed to use their own version of Venom in future Spider-Man movies, because they've done such a consistently great job with their films since Avengers 2 kind of fell flat and I'd love to see them tackle it.

Doom, Victor Von.

They say Spider-Man makes a cameo appearance in this film, and since Sony's Spider-Man universe is more or less MCU-compliant, then Venom and Iron-Man technically exist in the same universe via Spider-Man. So while we will see Venom and Spider-Man on screen together, and it's the same Spider-Man -- we're not likely to see Venom on screen with other Marvel characters outside of Spider-Man's localized world.

So Venom and the Hob-Goblin? Sure.. Venom and Carnage, or Venom and Kingpin or the Lizard? Yes. But Venom and Captain America? Not "right now," as they (Feige, Pascal) put it.
