That depends if you feel Troy Smith was a "great QB."
He was certainly the most talented by default (Krenzel, Boeckman, Bellisari) but he didn't have superior talent like a guy like Pryor does. Don't get me wrong Smith won a Heisman and certainly thrived under Tress, but it took him a long time to get to that point and we really only got 1.5 good years out of it.
With a guy like Pryor, you see him WAY ahead of the schedule Smith led and will only be a Soph next year. We're talking potentially 3 more seasons of Pryor. It certainly leaves this offense with an opportunity to be special and attract recruits to keep it successful.
