Mike Brown

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
After witnessing what's going on vs. Indiana in round 1, it sickens me we haven't moved on from Brown. Our too little too late run towards the playoffs maybe cost us a chance of winning a series.

I don't have the time to get into it right now, but there are a multitude of reasons that could be pointed to that resulted in this let-down of a season. To lay all of our failures on Mike Brown I think is a shallow observation. Redblackattack had an excellent response to this sentiment earlier in the thread. He could have done some things better, but our late season turn around vindicated a lot of his actions IMO. Things that are out of his control (immature, young players) was the main culprit that submarined our team early on, but I think by the end he had worked out a lot of the bad habits that had been building up during Scott's tenure with the team.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I feel the players are more responsible for our failures than Brown is.

The team showed imporvement this year after the Bynum fiasco. I don't balme the team or Brown for trying it as he was a skilled big man that could have been a core piece. It simply didnt work, mainly due to his attitude.

These kids were not ready to make to a big jump this year- its imcremental. Kyrie began to mature this season and Dion made a BIG jump; from being questioned as a draftpick to a viable NBA talent. The growth potential still remains with them individually and as a unit.

I do want to see the FO provide talent for what they will lose potentially in Deng, Hawes and even Miles. Brown shouldnt be penalyzed for deficnencies in the lineup that they do not retain. Alonzo Gee type players are NOT the answer.

And vice-versa. Remind me, how many rings did MJ/Kobe/Shaq win without Phil?

Let's try a little experiment. Find a light in your house that has a dimmer switch. Turn the light off, and turn the dimmer all the way down.

Now, turn the light on. No light.

Next, turn the light off, and then turn the dimmer on. Again, no light.

Next, turn the light on, with the dimmer still on. Voila, you have light.

Now for the tricky part: apply what you've learned with this light switch to analyzing the effects players and coaches have on each other.

Instructions unclear, dick stuck in ceiling fan.

I don't know about some of you, but I've felt better about Brown after watching some of these playoff games. Frank Vogel? Scott Brooks? They make Mike Brown without John Kuester look like an offensive genius. As bad as Mike Brown has been at times with his rotations, they're still better than what Vogel's trotted out lately.

One of the most foolish ideas someone in the Cavs organization had was that the team could not only try to learn how to play with an offense built around Bynum, but could then adjust to a totally different mode when he wasn't on the court. Not the brightest notion to lay on a young, inexperienced group with a new head coach who didn't even bother to teach an offense during the exhibition season.

sadly, the owner was the architect of that mess. hopefully he learned his lesson

Oh god no. We'd see all the frustrating defensive lapses that drove us all crazy under Scott back in full effect under MDA. I have nothing against the man personally, but I do feel like if we're dumping MB after one season, it can't be for another retread with a poor recent track record.

If we're going full-on up-tempo with a focus back on offense, I'd much prefer the George Karl idea.

This is just adding more good coaches to the market...

I like Mark Jackson as a coach as he really transformed that GS team but he seems to be hard guy to work with and I'm not sure I want to invest him with GM duties as well.

What made you come to this conclusion?
Just curious.

Mark Jackson and Griffin make a lot more sense together than Mike Brown and Griffin assuming Griffin keeps the GM role.

I still contend Griffin leaves if Mike Brown is forced on him. Not a good match philosophically....
