Mike Dunleavy Duck Hunt

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Mike Dunleavy of two years ago would be worth every penny. But back injuries are no joke, especially at his age. I'm sure he can still shoot but if he can play some of the hard-nosed defense he's been known to play throughout his career, then he can really add value to your squad.

You are both right. Wade brought the most value to the Heat franchise over the course of his career, and so he is the greatest player in Heat franchise history. LeBron in his four years there was the best player who ever played for the Miami Heat. To put it in terms of the Sixers, Wade was the Dr. J or Iverson, while LeBron was the Moses Malone.

Exactly. Wade definitely is the most valuable player the Heat ever had.

But LeBron gave them two titles. Four straight finals.

Wade's team was in the lottery and barely making the playoffs before LeBron came along.

I know he won that one ring and people like to over glorify it. But the Heat were in ashes after that.

That roster was trash though. Even moreso than LeBron’s from ‘08-’10

You cant look at Miami the two years before Lebron arrived. it was all set up to bring in Bosh and Lebron.

I like having another three point shooter off the bench. Keeps defenders on the Perimeter

I like it, Hes the type of guy you hate when he plays against you but love when hes on your team

Perfect

He is the delly role for SG and SF

Except he's not that good defensively
But fu k if he played for the Warriors so he wants revenge

Dunleavy is a great guy to have come playoff time. He's tough and leaves everything on the court. He has that mindset.

Hope he can deliver. I like it.

Is he healthy now?! I like him as a perimeter defender and he is a 40% 3p shooter!

I'm actually pretty encouraged by this trade and I'm not really viewing it as just some throwaway player that we end up trading for a bigger piece. I mean I guess that would be nice but I don't see any deal emerging unless we throw in Kevin Love and I'm skeptical we would trade Love this season. There just doesn't seem to be much urgency for that sort of a move.

Dunleavy has shot 38% or higher from 3 point range every year for the last 6 years. He should only get better looks with the Cavs than he did with the Bulls. He's not as quick as Shumpert but there may be situations where he can give us more offense against GSW than Shump could, and with his size, maybe we could maybe have him defend Livingston or Iguodala or Zaza or West. I could definitely see him getting more minutes in the finals than Shumpert, unless Shumpert can find his 3 point shot and start playing consistent defense. Dunleavy would only need to play 10 or 15 minutes if we're at full strength and I think he could be a significant contributor in that role.

Hopefully the Bulls being out of the playoffs this past season will mean that his body is feeling pretty good for the start of 2016-2017.

please be healthy because he's a great add if he plays like he did before last season. smart hits 3s plays very good team defense.

Interesting to me when I heard it ..because I always think there's a better option that might spring up later.

He's 6'9". That GS team has some long guys in KD, Klay, and Livingston. If he can give you 12 min a night, that's an entire quarter. I think he can handle that.

The more I think about it. The more I think LeBron will just handle backup pg duties this year.

Pull him out early in the game around the 6 minute mark. Let Kyrie/Love run the offense. Start the 2nd qrt with

Frye
RJ
Dunleavy
Shump
LeBron

What kind of take is this? They were in ashes because Pat Riley kept the payroll at the bare minimum and took on absolutely zero long term salary all so he could do what he did in 2010. Wade was playing with the scrubbiest of scrubs because Pat Riley set it up that way. Like, he was intentionally put on terrible teams because only terrible players would sign for the short term garbage Riley was offering.

And still, 43 wins, and 47 wins. The 47 wins is one of the more impressive regular season numbers I've ever seen. That Miami heat team was so, so, so, so, soooooooo bad.

As an aside, this is yet another reason Wade deserved to be paid more than what he's worth currently. Not only because he took paycuts, but because during his best two seasons as pro, when he was legitimately casting doubt as to whether or not LeBron was the best player in the league, his GM was actually trying to lose. And Wade didn't let it happen. He was too good.

In an alternate universe, where the players don't collude and Riley actually tries to put real talent around Wade while he was at the height of his powers, he and LeBron, the two best players in the league at that time, could have duked it out in the Eastern Conference Finals.

And always remember, during those two seasons where Wade got those cocksucker teams to the playoffs? He had higher usage rates than LeBron has ever had. One of those years was over a 36 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). That's the definition of carrying a team to the playoffs. All him and no one else.

Anyway, it's pretty freaking silly to claim LeBron's 4 years in Miami mean more than Wade's 13 or whatever its been. He holds all of the franchise records. He was a part of every Heat championship and so on.

EDIT: Just to really talk about those two Miami teams in 08 and 09, we're talking about a situation where a debate can be had on who the second best player on the team was between Michael Beasley, Jermaine O'Neal, and Udonis Haslam. Woof.
