This is the guy that undercut Tristan in 2015?

How about Tristan though?

Dude gets undercut and could have gotten seriously hurt. Pops back up and walks away like it's nothing.

This guy is one of my favorite players on the team. So reliable and levelheaded, never loses his cool or misses games. Works his ass off and doesn't complain about shots. Even switched shooting hands to try to improve his FT percentage (repeat this factoid ad-nauseum).

What more could you ask from a guy, in terms of approach-to-the-game (not talent level)?

Couldn't agree more with this post. I believe about 70% of Tristan's success is his hard work and dedication. He is nowhere near talented enough to be getting the kind of minutes and money he's getting. But with hard work and really keeping his eyes on the goal the whole time, he managed to make huge leaps and become a super important piece on a championship roster.
Good for him (and us).

No dirty play on Tristan. Boxing out is not a dirty play.

That's probably because Tristan knew it wasn't an undercut, it was just a box out attempt by a guy who saw the ball going toward the rim.

What kind of take is this? They were in ashes because Pat Riley kept the payroll at the bare minimum and took on absolutely zero long term salary all so he could do what he did in 2010. Wade was playing with the scrubbiest of scrubs because Pat Riley set it up that way. Like, he was intentionally put on terrible teams because only terrible players would sign for the short term garbage Riley was offering.

And still, 43 wins, and 47 wins. The 47 wins is one of the more impressive regular season numbers I've ever seen. That Miami heat team was so, so, so, so, soooooooo bad.

As an aside, this is yet another reason Wade deserved to be paid more than what he's worth currently. Not only because he took paycuts, but because during his best two seasons as pro, when he was legitimately casting doubt as to whether or not LeBron was the best player in the league, his GM was actually trying to lose. And Wade didn't let it happen. He was too good.

In an alternate universe, where the players don't collude and Riley actually tries to put real talent around Wade while he was at the height of his powers, he and LeBron, the two best players in the league at that time, could have duked it out in the Eastern Conference Finals.

And always remember, during those two seasons where Wade got those cocksucker teams to the playoffs? He had higher usage rates than LeBron has ever had. One of those years was over a 36 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). That's the definition of carrying a team to the playoffs. All him and no one else.

Anyway, it's pretty freaking silly to claim LeBron's 4 years in Miami mean more than Wade's 13 or whatever its been. He holds all of the franchise records. He was a part of every Heat championship and so on.

EDIT: Just to really talk about those two Miami teams in 08 and 09, we're talking about a situation where a debate can be had on who the second best player on the team was between Michael Beasley, Jermaine O'Neal, and Udonis Haslam. Woof.

That's all nice. LeBron was still the best player they ever had. LeBron lead them to 4 NBA finals, and won two championships. He won two league MVPs while as a Heat player.

Mean more? I just stated Wade is clearly the most valuable player they've ever had. How is that saying LeBron meant more? I'm simply stating the obvious, he's the best player they've ever had though.

How anyone can claim different is ridiculous. Of course Wade is the most valuable player they've ever had though. No one is debating that.

LeBron dragged a team to the finals with Larry Hughes and Sasha Pavlovic. Freaking Drew Gooden as his starting power forward. That's way more impressive than what Wade did with the Heat.

That was the worst team to ever player in the finals. Nothing beats that accomplishment.

I think you're overstating Wade's accomplishments a bit, too. The East was freaking terrible. Wade getting those teams to a 40 something wins is something he should do, given how good he is.

LeBron at least made noise in the playoffs, despite his bad teams.

I mean damn, even an older Jason Kidd was getting some pretty awful Net teams to the playoffs before he was traded. The East was dog shit.

Boxing out is not a dirty play. My opinion is that this is a little closer to moving into a player's path after his feet have left the floor. That's undercutting. And yes, Tristan Thompson is Nigh Invulnerable.

Quentin Richardson was a key contributor for those expiring contract Heat teams. I will never forget that.

you guys are literally arguing semantics because your definition of "best" is different

This is a great pickup for the Cavs. The Cavs need to stack 6'8 guys who can defend and hit 3s and Dunleavy fits that mold. We have been clamoring for a Perkins-like player for a while now. I like that Dunleavy has some edge to him. Can you imagine him doing this stuff to Steph and Klay? They will start throwing hissy fits. Great move.

True that. Just because Dunleavy is cheap shot artist doesn't mean we should pass on the guy. If he can effectively irritate the hell out of Durant for 10 minutes a game, he's worth the luxury tax.

I like Dunleavy. Can defend and knock down the three. Will give us solid minutes next year.

Let's resign LeBron and JR and get one big man.
