How does Hagadone make the top 3?

He's a reliever now which should set him down in itself, much less a look at his numbers.

Well, Knapp is back being dominant. Over at the IPI board Lastoria was talking that IF healthy he's the Tribe's #1 Prospect. In a year that's been all bad news, hopefully he continues to be healthy and gets through Kinston and Akron in 2011, ready for June callup 2012- at which point he will still be 21 years old.

And as I was typing this. Hector Rondon TJ Surgery performed by Dr. Andrews today. Yikes.

Damn. He was 'on the doorstep', too.

Any idea what has happened to Anthony Reyes? Did he mess up his back that much?

According to Castrovince, Reyes' rehab has been shut down for the year. This is supposedly not due to medical concerns as much as "faulty mechanics", whatever that means. Probably there is more to the story that we will not hear about for awhile. But it would seem that we won't have the pleasure of arguing over him in this thread any time soon. :chuckles:

I guess he'll be working privately with AA pitching coach for the remainder of the season.

Reyes not likely to pitch for Tribe this season

CLEVELAND -- The Indians had hoped to see Anthony Reyes before season's end, but that's looking less and less likely by the day.

Reyes, more than a year removed from Tommy John elbow ligament replacement surgery, had his Minor League rehab assignment cut short because of faulty mechanics. Reyes was roughed up to the tune of a 25.41 ERA in three starts for Double-A Akron, and the Indians opted to have him work with Akron pitching coach Greg Hibbard on his delivery issues, rather than continue the rehab.

With less than two weeks remaining in the Minor League season, Reyes is running out of time to get enough work in to prove he's ready to rejoin the Tribe. Manager Manny Acta had hoped to count on Reyes as a rotation or bullpen option in the season's final month, but Acta implied that doesn't appear likely now.

Reyes is 13-26 with a 5.12 ERA in 67 career Major League appearances.

Also, Castrovince provided an update on Adam Miller last week for those of you who are interested. It would be a great story if he could make a comeback from his freakish injury, IMO.

•This is as good a time as any to give you an Adam Miller update. He lives, too, and he's been throwing bullpen sessions at the Arizona complex the last couple weeks. The Indians hope to get him in a game environment before the end of the calendar year. That could be in the Fall Instructional League or in winter ball. Miller has had four surgeries on his right middle finger over the last two and a half years, and his hope of reaching the bigs is a major longshot. But he's still out there pitching, trying to overcome the odds.

Alex White, Nick Hagadone, and Rob Bryson combine for a 4 hitter tonight in Akron.

Chiz with a HR, his 17th on the year, and 77th RBI. If this kid had been healthy all year we'd be looking at 20+ HR, and 90+ RBI.

Jared Goedert is now hitting .263 in AAA, do you still give him a shot in Sept? He had an amazing season, could be just hitting a wall after only playing 92 games in 2009.

Yes.. please.

We need someone in the lineup that can actually hit a home run or at least trick us into thinking he can :chuckles:

Well, Sept 1 has come and gone, no Goedert. I would hope after the AAA playoffs he'll be here.

He was simply an aberration this season.

Dude got out of his mind hot in the first half, and came crashing back down to Earth. He'll now become this uber-prospect in the eyes of some Indians fans who never got his shot under Shapiro the Terrible.

Not saying that you're one of those people, but you know it's a forgone conclusion...

I saw him this year and liked his ability as a hitter, not so much in the field. If they feel he's a man without a true position then that would be the reason he isn't here.

Plus, he could get ABs everyday in Columbus right now and play in the playoffs (should they hold off Louisville). Why not let him work out of his slump.

Playing four days a week in Cleveland probably won't help that as much.

If he could play 3B even adequately defensively I think he would have gotten the call.

Frankly, I like how they are giving Jayson Nix the chance here. He was/is a better prospect than Goedert and a guy who in my opinion is just now getting the ABs to show what he can do. I think his pop is legit, and if he can grow into playing 3B (this is his first extended playing time there in his baseball career) I think the team may have a bargain on their hands.
