I'm 33. 1 year IT experience. 1 year construction helper experience. Live with parents. Time to move out.

My budget = ~$3,300 a month expenses.
(Am I missing anything?)
Health Insurance = $300 (OPTION A)
Rent = $1,200
Car Fuel = $300
Food = $250
Cell = $50
Internet = $50
Gym = $50
Cigs = $250
Car pay = $300
Utilities = $200
Random Subs = $100
Hygine = $100
Car ins = $150
Misc = $300

Options:

Option A = Information Technology as a Desktop Support Technician. Salary = $3,200 after taxes a month. Problem: Obviously will barely make ends meet. Will need to get a job on the weekends. Problem2: I really want to do this.

Option B = Construction. As a helper in framing or renovation. Salary = $5,000 after taxes a month. Problem: I don't want to do this, because I am out of shape - but when I did do it and was in shape it was tolerable. Problem2: Will constantly think I want to do Information Technology. Problem 3: 10 hours a day vs. 8 in IT(but weekend job so roughly the same)

Option C = Currently trying to get citizenship in US. IF I do get it(will know in 10 months) I can take my disability(mental health problem) and move to Poland, and get a job there in customer service. Salary+Disability = $7,000 zlotych(Polish currency) a month after taxes. Rent there is like $800 a month. Problem = I wouldn't have a car, but I'd obviously have a lot more money.

Pros Option A = Want to do it, career, growth/earning potential
Cons Option A = Little money to start

Pros Option B = Exercise, more money, polish people
Cons Option B = No room for growth, don't want to do this, work in all types of weather

Pros Option C = Lots of money, be near family, get to work any job I want
Cons Option C = Deadbeat?(Taking disability from US and living in Poland), no car, have to adjust to culture, have to re-learn how to write/read Polish, not in IT

I also need to move out ASAP.

What should I do?

Talk to a psychologist to sort your problems. Maybe a social worker.

Bro, looks like you realize the potential and career growth in IT. I think so too. So expand your choices a little bit. For example, try to negotiate for a slightly higher pay on the desktop IT job

B seems clearly the worst option, C requires something that you’ll need to wait at least 10 months for. Which leaves option A. Which seems like the one you prefer long term anyway. Also, seems like option B is one you can elect whenever you want. So it’s an available backup.

Option A!

Sir Dom might be making his comment tongue-in-cheek, but talking to a therapist / social worker is actually really helpful. It has been in my experience. Doesn’t mean you have to, but whether Sir Dom was joking or not… I’ve found such conversations helpful to better identifying what I truly want / need in my life.

What the heck?

You think I was joking around? You need someone to talk to face to face and accurately set target goals, establish interests and find more meaning other than financial goals. If you think people here are going to accurately give you advice and that you will actually follow through with their advice you are fooling yourself. The only reason you decide to open another thread is to feel better in the really short term. So I have news for you, you need more than that.

I don't know how it works in the part of the world that you are from but try to find a cheap way to get on with someone who has your best interests in hand. Good luck and I don't need your prayers!

Even a career coach would be helpful. There should be a supportive employment office in Dee's county or nearby that can work with him on his goals and help him find a job that will provide accomodations/understanding for his mental health symptoms.

Are they making you move out or did something happen?

You're missing renters insurance, which might be required.

Clearly option A. Do what you enjoy. And there is upside in that career.

You could cut a few expenses to make it work without a second job.

Either find cheaper phone plan or use your phone as a hotspot and eliminate the internet plan and save $20-$50.

Trim the cigs expense by 20% and save $50.

See if you can get slightly cheaper rent or rent a place close to where you take a job to cut the car fuel expense.

I'd also look for something more fuel efficient to cut that car fuel cost. Used plug in hybrid, used EV, assuming you rent somewhere you can plug it in and charge for something close to normal electric rates. Tax credit is refundable at purchase to lower the cost of the car this year (assuming the dealer signed up for that).

I'll bite.

You need a savings to move out of your parents home. If you budget $1.200 for rent, do you plan on having a roommate to split the cost or have your own place? If you are truly going out on your own without help, I would suggest working from your parents home until you have $5,000 in savings. A hidden cost is a full month's rent down as a deposit. Aside from the deposit, you will have some incidentals like moving costs and furnishings you didn't anticipate. What if you get a flat tire? A savings allows you to survive life's surprises But by all means, go for the career you see yourself sticking to for more than a year. You don't want to sign a lease and then hate your job. Good luck!

Did I miss the life threatening part? Honestly bro, if spent half the time I see you playing games via discord working, doing odd jobs of educating yourself then you would not be here askingthesd questions. I know that seems like the pot calling the kettle black, but I have made my life.

Since Ben’s leadership…..This place….

Goodness…

1) Get a roommate
2) Eliminate the cigs
3) you likely won't spend $300 in fuel unless you're driving all over the place

If you need to pick up a side hustle or part time job from home. Like help desk a few nights a week.

IT has lots of upside. Just gotta stick with it.
