I'm a little sad he didn't draw upon a family member's experience for this one.

Sadly I have never had a high ankle sprain since I cannot actually injury that ligament, but I have had dislocated ankles and my brother broke his. Aka there is a sprain in the ankle but it isn't severe enough for him to miss a long period of time. He just shouldn't push himself to hard on it.
