NBA Coaching Musical Chairs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Pistons have hired Rasheed Wallace as an assistant coach today to work with their bigs Drummond and Monroe.

That is an interesting signing, and kind of crazy when you consider what Rasheed's rep was in the league at one point. He has definitely come a long way.

Actually, Woj tweeting that is irrelevant unless Stevens brings his wiz kid Cannon with him.

Celtics Hire Butler's 23-Year-Old Analytics Guru For Coaching Staff
Jul 08, 2013 6:00 PM EDT

The Boston Celtics have hired Drew Cannon to join Brad Stevens' coaching staff.

Cannon was previously Butler's analytics guru and is just 23 years old.

Cannon would prepare a report for Stevens following every Butler game that would take him 10 to 12 hours to prepare in order to find advantages in terms of lineup patterns.

Kurt Rambis has been hired as future interim head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. I mean assistant coach. Considering how hard Rambis bashed D'Antoni on ESPN for the past year, this is going to be a fun year in the Staples Center.

Rambis has wanted the Laker job for soo long, it'll be a great day for laker fans when he takes charge, at least he will actually care enough to do the rebuild

Too much celebrating by the new head coach:

Does the Brooklyn Nets' Jason Kidd have any clue how to coach?
....

However, it appears Kidd has a more significant learning curve. Coaching a summer game with a cell phone (turned on, no less) in your pocket is almost the worst mistake a coach can make. Answering it is the worst. Well, although he wasn't coaching the game (assistant Eric Hughes was) when he did both, it still was surprising he would do that on the bench. There are numerous other nuances Kidd will have to learn, but he is fortunate in one respect: He has a brilliant set of players -- basketball IQ-wise -- to work with.

I really don't understand how all these people making millions of dollars are constantly getting DUIs. Call a damn cab or hire a limo. Hell, most professional sports teams even provide drivers for their players with the idea being to keep them from driving drunk. It's ridiculous.

lol bashing a coach for using his cell phone while observing a summer league game. lol what Kidd gonna do .. get benched?
