NBA FINALS 2016 | GAME 7: CAVS @ WARRIORS | JUNE 19TH, 8:00 PM

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We've been down this path so many times. Of course they are going to Cleveland us. I haven't logged on here for 10mins in the last week. Didnt go to game 6...sent my kids. I'm not even remotely getting myself excited for a championship...it aint happening.

Steph for 3 at the buzzer...book it!

BOHICA...

Nailed it...you're all welcome. Enjoy. You've earned it.

The Cavs won this game with an entire team effort! IMO, the keys to the game were JR Smith coming out and hitting 2 threes to start the second half, Lebron's overall effort and his powerful blocked shots, Love's late 4th quarter complete lock down defense on Curry and Irving's late three to put us up for good!

So many players stepped up various times. They had those guys that you always see perform for title teams. Never had that in 2007 Finals or those 60 win failure seasons. It was always ONE guy.

These playoffs:
Channing Frye - RD2 and ECF
Dahntay Jones - a few minutes of spark in Game 6
Mo Williams - same deal in Game 6, kept game flowing
Timo - was asked to step in a bit Game 3
Delly - wasn't great, but did what he had to early in the playoffs
Richard Jefferson - literally don't need to say it... WHAT A PLAYOFFS!

This is my first time sober in about 16 hours. Wow. We made history. We ended the curse. Got today off from work and I think i'm just going to watch SportCenter all -- Never thought I'd be able to seriously utter that sentence.

We will always have last night. Nobody can take it away. I still cannot believe it.

Game 7 of the NBA Finals lived up to the hype, especially in terms of viewership for ABC.
The Cleveland Cavaliers thrilling 93-89 win over the Golden State Warriors brought in an overnight rating of 18.9 on Sunday night, the network said.

The telecast peaked with 25.5 rating from 10:30 pm to 10:45 pm ET when the Cavaliers wrapped up the victory.

This makes the much anticipated showdown the highest rated NBA Finals game since 1998 when Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls beat the Utah Jazz.

This is also the highest rated NBA game for ABC since the network started broadcasting the games in 2003. Game 7 also had a higher rating than all sports programming on either ABC or ESPN in 10 years, which includes NFL playoff games and the College Football championship games.

We're playing like dog shit but are still firmly in this game. Gonna have to try some other guys though if the current crew can't make a shot.

In what world is being down -7 against the fucking GSW "in the game". They NEVER lose these games. Like, this would be the first time, ever.

:biggrinthumb:

Gotta believe, bro.

30.8 average last night...44.5 peak!! WOW.
Those are Superbowl numbers. The NBA hasn’t seen numbers like that since literally the last Jordan championship.

Yep. But the more hope that rose in me the more years of my life I lost watching last nights game. I mean damn that was brutal to watch. It was such a combination of weight and pressure from the Cleveland curse and from the anger I was feeling towards GSW for their disrespect, and for the hopes I had for LBJ. And within seconds afterwards the pipe burst and it was just like instant fucking relief.

We're free now. And you know exactly what I'm talking about. No fans outside of Cleveland sports can possibly know the immense weight hanging over all of us because of the curse. But now its gone, and the GSW villains have been defeated, and we are absolutely free to enjoy basketball again. Even if we never won another championship, we're all absolutely set. We've got the best championship now. The absolute best of them all!!!

I mean do you guys realize every time a team goes down 1-3 in the finals they are gonna have to mention that only one time in history did a team manage to come back from that? The Cleveland Cavaliers are the ones in the place of history and honor now.

Thanks Cavs, thanks LeBron! Love you all.

I know exactly how you feel, man. As shot after shot clanked off the rim down the stretch, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop and another Cleveland "moment" to be added to the list. I still can't believe that we actually won. It truly feels surreal.

Golden State, especially in that building, makes you feel like every shot made puts you in a huge hole, but the reality is usually that it's just a made shot. You gotta ride the wave with them and not get down about every little thing. It was amazing to watch our guys hang tough and pull it out in the end.

rewatching game 7 for the 5th time

things i missed:

1.) ty lue on the bench by himself after the win and the warriors ball boy walks over and congratulates him. i thought that was cool

2.) where the hell did dahntay jones sprint to at the buzzer? he took off towards the other end of the court away from everyone

3.) they didn't even let bill russell present his own trophy
