NBA Finals | Game 1 | Cavs (0-0) @ Warriors (0-0) | June 1, 2017 | 9:00pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hard to imagine anyone being entertained by tonight game besides Warriors fans. Even when the deficit was 8 points for a while, it never felt even close.

Korver playing 20 minutes with zero points can't happen again.

LeBron just 9 points in the 2nd half.

We can keep acting like LeBron playing Durant the majority of the 1st half is not playing into the Warriors hands.

If we were going to lose I'm glad it was an asskicking. Because thats the only way Lue will adjust. JR's gotta be the sacrificial lamb. Durant's going to get his points anyway. We can't take out best player and have him exert the most energy. Its already bad enough the Warriors get to hide Curry on defense from Kyrie.

Durant is the biggest beta in NBA history.

Are you talking about the Cavs' half-court D stats in these playoffs against Eastern Conference teams? Because the Warriors are a whole-new kettle of fish.

And on the other side. The Warriors D doesn't get enough credit. They have size and can match up with the Cavs. The Cavs don't have a rim protector either. You saw how the Celtics ball movement gave the Cavs fits. Well picture that on steroids with this team. They are the best passing team in the league. Avg. over 30 assists is insane.

I'd bet our halfcourt D rated out fairly well tonight. If we are talking about initial offense and what we were giving up on the first attempt.

In general, we weren't giving up a ton of open looks in straight up half court sets. They were taking challenged shots or ones where they were moved off their spots. Where we got murdered was on second chance points.

All the open looks and dunks they got were in transition or on scrambling players after an offensive rebound. Unless you want to argue that guys like West or ZaZa got open looks? Which we'll take all day.

Just gotta box out. It's that simple. We aren't good enough on D to give them 10+ second chances.

Being in a position to box out properly is an integral part of half court D.
If when the shot is up we are not ready to box out properly, they did their job to break the defense.
Also, they did get a lot of open looks. Klay shot crazy horrible numbers which pulled their % down. But almost every possession was either a good look or a foul.

What exactly is the adjustment to be made? The Warrios have overwhelming offensive talent. Cant trap them. Cant go under. If the Cavs are gonna switch then the Cavs players have to play better individual defense. Problem is the Cavs have almost no positive defenders and multiple horrible defenders.
like the announcers said.

take care of the ball and don't turn it over.

block out on defense and keep a big guy in the paint.

don't rush to the perimeter guy before the ball handler has been slowed down.

Remove Jr's head from his ass.

lots of adjustments to be made

I disagree. We can play with a decent pace and still win. We just cannot constantly turn the ball over.

They have over 40 points off of fastbreak opportunities+second chance points. That is absolutely obscene. It is the sole difference in this game.

We have shot 35% and turned it over 17 times. We literally gave ourselves zero chance to win this game.

Yeah your right man. TT needs to find his balls. Need to take better care of the ball, clean up the defensive rebounding, and get back in transition. KD and Steph will get theirs in half court just have to limit transition opportunities.

I legit think Dahntay Jones might need meaningful minutes in this series.

If for no other reason to than to fuck up sone Warrior ankles, yes.

Least we stuck it out guys

Now all we gotta do is add Kawhi Leonard and we have a shot

If we actually make it a series, and like play close games and become 1-1 or 2-2 or whatever, the Warriors will crumble. Warriors want it the easy way. They don't want to fight. If we fight them harder and make it a series, we have the advantage and will win. LBJ has been in this position a million times. We can't play much worse. I'm optimistic.

Yea the warriors intensity on D reminds me of Lebrons Heat teams. Just flying around and relentless on D

I can actually live with the Cavs giving up around 110 game. They can beat this team giving that up but they need to score. This team is too talented offensively to not score at least 100 every night. That starts with taking care of the ball and getting role players good looks. And of course, those guys need to actually hit shots.

Our bench and Smith should be embarrassed.

Golden State can eat my shit. And that includes bloody diarrhea.
