When can Cleveland get a ASG in the LeBron era? We deserve one and what better time than now since the city is improving in many ways.

I read that New Orleans could get it... they just had one not to long ago.

Good move by the NBA but give it to a city who hasn't had one in quite some time. NO has had it like twice within the last decade.
It's all about the money in times like these... They see dollar signs, I'm assuming Cleveland can't pull in NO money.

And to be honest and no disrespect to Cleveland or any other city, you poll the players and NO is probably in the top 5 for locations for the All-Star game. Everyone has a fun time.

Cleveland is fun for the whole family. You even seen a Cuyahoga sunset?

If we had that southern weather I can assure you we'd have an ASG. They can pull in a lot of money just by having all-star fan fests outside.

1.3 million people at an event could inspire you, but it was also summer weather as opposed to winter weather for an ASG.

I am all for Cleveland to have the game I just don't see it happening anytime soon and I was trying to be realistic.

We are looking at the blueprint for a Cleveland based showcase in the summer:

Step one - Yelling and screaming in public square for 10 hours.

Step two - Dinner at one of the 53 new downtown steakhouses.

Step three - Get piss drunk by yourself in your hotel room while watching xhamster.com.

C'mon Silver, get off your hands!

I understand that New Orleans is a great venue BUT I really wish we could get in on this. We haven't hosted since 1997 and the city is proving that we have the capability and momentum to handle these high profile events.

New Orleans has hosted twice in the last 10 years (including two friggin' years ago)... But I understand the move and would prefer New Orleans to Charlotte given the circumstances (feel bad for the good people of Charlotte though).

Cant wait for next seasons annual preseason games held in China!! Is there not one reporter with an ounce of courage to call Silver out on this? Fucking irritating.
Good point !

All I want, all I crave is for a single damn reporter with even the tiniest pair of nuts to mention China when Silver gives his press conference over this.

Any. One.

Making it okay to treat people like lower level human beings isunacceptable. nba made the right move.

The shitty thing is that Charlotte was the city that passed the legislation allowing transgender people to use the bathroom of the gender they associate with to begin with. It was our dipshit Republican governor and Congress that threw a shit fit after we did so and not only overturned it, but basically legalized discrimination to boot. It sucks that our city is the one to face all the consequences when we were the ones trying to be progressive.

I spent three years in North Carolina (High Point) and most of my best friends live in Charlotte, Raleigh, High Point, and/or Wilkesboro. We were all gonna go, so I'm kinda bummed about that, but I understand why the NBA is standing up to McRory. It just sucks for Charlotte, a city that was really looking forward to hosting the all-star game, to be harmed by their dipshit governor.
