New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Glover is a young guy trying to break into the music business in Atlanta. His cousin happens to have a hit single and he's able to convince him to let Glover be his manager. Hijinks ensue while he's also trying to keep the relationship with the mother of his child going.

It's really well done, with good humor as well as some very poignant moments about life. Obviously plenty of good music too.

Started it last night and I am glad i did. Great writing coupled with a great cast is usually a recipe for success. It had me engaged from the first scene.

Even though I am not a huge fan of rap today aside from a few artists (marble-mouthed auto-tuned crap, IMO...when did rappers lose the ability to enunciate?), I love rap culture and knowing people that live in ATL, they say it's a pretty accurate portrayal.

It definitely takes some jabs at some controversial societal stereotypes but it does it in a thought-provoking way while still delivering on the humor side, which is a tough balancing act these days.

It's a shame the show is taking a break so Glover can film the next Star Wars standalone. I guess that's what happens when you're talented. :dunno:

Since Black Mirror is an anthology series it doesn't have to be watched in order. Season 2, episode 1 is really good

Doing a re-watch of Oz right now because the girlfriend has never seen it and was interested. Definitely still a top ten show for me, although I feel like it's not holding up quite as well compared to the last time I watched it.

Also, who would have thought that, of all the actors who appear on Oz, Peter Dinklage would go on to be the most successful. He appears in one episode and gets thrown off a roof in a flashback with no dialogue. But dammit, now he's one of the most well known actors on Earth. Second place probably goes to JK Simmons, who went from a rapist Nazi on Oz to the face of Farmers Insurance.

Just finished that for the 1st time a couple months ago. Definitely kept my interested. I wouldn't call it a top 10 show for me, but I did really enjoy it. JK Simmons is amazing in it. Adebese(sp?) could have stayed a bit longer.

Your gf is about to see wangs on wangs!

Oz is probably still my favorite HBO show of all time, though I haven't watched all of the big ones yet admittedly. I also think it's impressive how ridiculously ahead of its time and different it was.

One of the fun side effects of watching Oz is that you can watch pretty much any other show on television now (and a couple of insurance commercials) and there will be at least one guy whose dick you've seen in the cast.

Just watched season 2, episode 4. For a show that is supposed to be like the twilight zone, that was the most twilight zone like episode yet. @gourimoko - if you haven't seen them yet, watch episodes 1 and 4 from season 2.

I've seen the first season..

Absolutely fantastic show.... Funny you mention it because I hate most TV shows, but love Black Mirror.

I haven't watched season 3 yet, but you'll see why I recommended those two episodes to you when you watch them.
