Finishing up season two of The Expanse tonight. The first season started off slow, and probably wasn't helped by the fact that I've read the books and basically knew what would happen, but damn this show gets really good later in season one and season two has been great all the way through.
They've actually taken some steps to improve upon the books by introducing some characters earlier like Avasarala and the other Earth-based characters, who don't show up until the second book, but are featured here in season one. They do a good job of showcasing the politics on Earth this way, which helps move the story along and paint a clearer picture of what's going on. The first book only had two viewpoint characters, Holden and Miller (each written by a different author, I believe, as the books are written by two different writers under one pen name), so it was pretty focused and didn't delve too deeply into everything else going on, such as the budding war between Earth and Mars.
I'd say anyone who likes sci-fi should take a look. Really looking forward to seeing how some of the later events from the books play out, because the books are fucking fantastic and have a lot of surprising twists and turns. I finished the latest book a couple of days ago and it continues that trend.
@gourimoko this seems like your kind of show.
