Here is a concept I saw. They basically just cleaned up our current uniforms, and they look damn good actually.
1. Removing 'Browns' from the pants
2. Remove contrasting stitching
3. Remove dropshadows on numbers
4. Switch number colors. White on Home, Brown on Away
5. Don't extend the shoulder striping onto the front of the jersey.
It looks pretty similar to our old look, but the "sleeves" look cleaner on this at the very least. There aren't sleeves really on football jerseys anymore, and sometimes our attempt to get all five stripes to show on the old uniform didn't work with the cut of a modern NFL jersey. These are phenomenal honestly.
Am I the only one who did not have a problem with the old uniforms? I don't know, I have always been partial to the classic, staying true to tradition uniforms and helmets. For example, the Chicago Bears have never strayed away from tradition. Even with college uniforms, like Ohio State, Penn State and Notre Dame have all stayed true - for the most part. Obviously, this does not include "combat uniforms" or whatever they are called.
I have never been a fan of "flashy" over the top uniforms/helmets. It always seems like there is too much going on. Just keep it clean, simple, traditional - with a little bit of modern appeal thrown in.
Agree.
Packers/Bears/Raiders/Cowboys etc. all seem to have the best uniforms in the NFL to me.
I do like the old uniforms a lot. But like I pointed out in my last post, I wouldn't be opposed to cleaning up the "sleeves" a bit. But other than that, they were pretty close to perfect. Bring back the orange pants for occasions, but no other changes.Am I the only one who did not have a problem with the old uniforms? Would really like to see the Browns put a Chilean Sea Bass on their helmet....
Yes. Just yes. I mean... the dude was fired and started the Bengals. Yes, it's our name, but that doesn't mean we have to include the color brown.I maintain that the brown needs to go. Replace with a dark grey and everything else falls into place. Just because the guys name was Brown, doesn't mean the unis have to look like shit. More brown is not the solution. The orange helmets are iconic.
