Newborn thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We welcomed our little girl into the world at 11:35 PM. Mom and baby doing great! All of us are fucking exhausted. :chuckle:
Hopefully you get the opportunity to recover because the exhaustion stays for a bit.

Big congrats!

The exhaustion is real, especially the first month, and a bit into the second. My little dude is now nearing his third month. It's getting better, but husband and I still aren't functioning at 100%. Little dude still wakes for a couple of night feedings. But thankfully he's at the stage where he can wait 3 hours between feeds regularly now. Newborns are tough because they need to feed at least every 2 hours, and every hour during the cluster feed days. They also take long to feed, about half hour on average. Nearing 3 months, you'll find relief when they feed faster (about 10 minutes) and have bottle nipples that encourage faster feeding.

Thanks to @KevinLoveFan for steering me here.

On day 8 of twins, one boy one girl. Hospital stay was 3 days longer, as mom had some complications, but she’s doing ok now.

On day 3 at home. Doing way better at home. Got 4-5 hours of sleep each day so far, which is way more than I expected.

Enjoy it while you can...

Also with a boy and girl, you can't really mix them up so that's a blessing.

Congrats!

My little guy turns 6 months old this weekend. Months 2 thru 5 were pretty much a breeze, relatively speaking of course.

Unfortunately, my wife and I are in the midst of a pretty significant 6 month sleep regression. Not sure if its a growth spurt or more teething (he already cut two teeth on the bottom early on) or if he just rolls over too aggressively and that's what wakes him up.

Once he stopped needing an overnight bottle to get through the night, the dude would sleep pretty consistently from about 7pm to 5am with minimal wake ups.

But now? He still falls asleep roughly the same time, but he's waking up multiple times throughout the night without much desire to go back to sleep.

Hoping he figures it out soon!

Yep, 2-5 it definitely gets easier. The first two months are the hardest.

Teething does indeed cause sleep issues at times. My little guy was/is a fantastic sleeper, but he would let out dramatic screams during his teething episodes. Tylenol was sometimes the only thing that worked for us.

Congrats! My wife and I just had twin in January, so just crossed the 5 month mark. Same set up, little boy and little girl. Hang in there! The first month or so, working out the logistics of doing everything twice, was definitely the hardest part. It's eased up considerably. The biggest thing for us was just forcing the to stay on the same schedule. You spend enough time feeding them that if they get an hour or two apart it becomes just all-encompassing.

You, me and @CBBI will have kids running the same race. All born at the same time.

Ours was January 8th.
