Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just saw Guns N' Roses live in DC. Definitely in my top-three concerts of all time (Foo Fighters at RFK in 2015 and Metallica at the Q in 2009 are the other two). Axl's voice was leagues better than when I saw him in 2006, frankly it wasn't in the same universe, and the band seemed really tight.

Frank Ferrer is the best drummer GnR has had since Adler, Fortus has great chemistry with everyone, Duff is one of my favorite bassists, Axl is a unique talent, and Slash is one of the biggest lifetime treats to watch.

Overall, I don't think there is any love lost between Slash/Duff and Axl. They don't seem to love each other as people, however, they work great as a unit and clearly like playing with each other. The music was outstanding and I give GnR a 10/10. When Slash played the outro solo to Nightrain I cried, best solo of all time.

Alice In Chains was also good. Their "new" singer (2006) was really forcing air out of his throat and it sounded naisely; however, about halfway through the setlist (when they played Rooster) everyone got in a groove. No Excuses and Man In A Box were both outstanding. 7/10.

My only negative was that after Alice In Chains finished I went to go use the restroom and, in a mad rush to get to the bathroom, some drunk asshole shoved over a blind guy. The blind man's friend and myself helped him up, and I got security to help him some more, however the asshole that shoved him deserves to rot in hell. I don't care if you are drunk, or that you have to urinate really bad, shoving over a blind dude is not acceptable.

But honestly, if any of you have a chance to see them, I highly, highly recommend it. GnR was tight as Kevin Love's girlfriend's ass, and it fucking rocked.

Making the trip to see them tonight in Cinci. Pretty stoked!

Have a blast and write your review on here! Is Alice in Chains opening or do you get Lenny?

Wow. what a show. I was completely blown away. They played for 3+ hours and fucking Steven Adler made his first appearance on the tour. He played on "Out Ta Get Me" and "My Michelle" and got a HUGE ovation from the crowd...looked very healthy also...was smiling the entire time.

Axl was a wild man, running up and down the stage the entire evening. He doesn't get enough credit for how good of a musician he is...played the Layla piano outro straight into November Rain. Voice sounded great and he's looking pretty trim.

I've seen Slash twice now (last year at Rock On The Range with Myles Kennedy) and he has never sounded better. I got goosebumps during the godfather theme and he ripped through everything with precision. Was equally impressed with Fortus. He and Slash performed "Wish You Were Here" which ended in crazy dual jams.

Definitely one of my top 5 concert experiences I've had. They are not mailing it in by any means. They commanded the stage about as good as anyone i've seen and the innate chemistry, even after all the drama, is a sight to see. Having major GnR withdrawal this morning.

That's awesome, man. I'm jealous you got to see Adler. I actually like Frank better as a drummer, but, Adler is fucking classic. Also, My Michelle is just a fantastic song.

I'm glad you had a great time! The band seems like they love playing together again (note: did not say they love each other) and want to make more music. If my read is right I'd be ecstatic. They even sound great together on the Chinese Democracy songs, and I liked that album more than most, but this unit just makes those songs sound like classic GnR.

Agreed. Seeing them live was incredible. If they were to release new material, that'd be the icing on the cake.

Anyone into Twenty One Pilots? Or what do you think of the band?

Rock is dead and there is no alternative.

I'm thinking about going to see Green Day on March 3 in DC this year. They were the first band I ever really loved, and while I don't enjoy all their stuff the way I once did, songs like "Basket Case," "Holiday," "When I Come Around," "American Idiot," "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," and "Time Of Your Life" still hold a special spot for me. I've never seen them and feel like it'll be worth it to go.

Anyone have thoughts? Especially if you've seen Green Day before, and even more if it was recently, I'd like to hear how good they are before dropping $100 to go.

I saw them at Lollapalooza in 2010; I would happily drop a hundred to go. Hell, I'm strongly contemplating dropping almost 200 to see them in Chicago at the end of the month.

They're an electric show; don't pass it up -- especially not at this point in their careers when they're seemingly toward the end.

Awesome, thanks! I just bought their new CD and like it quite a bit. I own every GD album now outside of UDT. So I'll probably buy that and get tickets when they go on sale in a few days.
