I thought they already made a movie on this.
Yep. The Year that Trembled. I didn't think it was that great, personally.
I thought they already made a movie on this.
I heard something about this last year hopefully they'll do justice to the situation
They can scew this up in two ways.
1. Making it a musical.
2. Making it over dramatic, like explosions, artillery fire, tanks, machine gun nests. While only 4 people died, and at the end, place a National Guard Memorial. That actually sounds like a good movie lol
God this sounds fucking retarded. a shooting that happened 40 years ago, which was politically charged and has virtually no connection to current events. What possible connection could the creators hope to make with current audiences? Just seems like a whole unnecessary, and uninteresting waste of time.
Hmmm... how much you wanna bet they spend 15 minutes on the actual event and the other 75 or so minutes on a Zac Efron/love interest storyline?
While I feel that prediction seems to be selling Hollywood a bit short, look at Titanic and Pearl Harbor.
Yep. History is so gay.

Not casting stones, but your post paints a very ignorant picture. It was one of the most dramatic moments in US history and really brought this nation together. Argue about the casting? Fine by me. But don't post ignorant shit. Based on your comments why make a movie about anything?
You're comparing Kent State to WW2?
I don't know, I know it was important, and I was a bit drunk when I wrote my last post, so it was probably a little over-the-top. But I mean really, what happened at Kent State is a small part of the Vietnam War protests in general. I just don't see the Kent State events being able to carry an entire flick. I also don't see any audience interest there, other than perhaps old-time hippies wanting to relieve the glory years.
Now, a flick that encompassed the entire anti-war movement and spent a good-bit of time focusing on Kent State could be interesting. But that's not what this sounds like.
I'm not trying to discount the importance of that history, but do you really think a Zac Effron / Justin Timberlake flick will do the history any justice? I have my doubts.
