Open Discussion (Cavs + related issues)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
On lebatard podcast they said the Cavs were ranked 29th in points in the paint

Damn

Lol if you needed a stat to show you how much the Cavs care for the regular season
There is that

This team will look so different in the postseason money time

We keep saying that. A whole year-long's set of habits will go up in smoke as soon as they get into postseason games? I'd love to believe it.

It happened last season. We looked like pure trash in so many games we barely squeaked out. And then we turned it on before the playoffs. Do you remember round 1 and 2? Hell, we even turned it off against Toronto for a bit then turned it right back on.

Believe it... Go watch the previous 2 seasons. The First was how do all the pieces don't fit and they can't stop Alanta. The second was they aren't playing hard and kevin love is unplayable vs warriors. This season is their D is too bad to win.

Every year they break bad habits and tighten up rotations right at playoff time. They are now a veteran team that knows it has a chance to win as long as it has LBJ.

I think it has just been made more obvious this year because of all the moving players and injuries. Plus missing 3 starters for extended stretches and resting players.

People forget about going 10-0 then 12-2 the 16-5.

Let the haters hate!!! They'll be the first ones to say I told you so.

The fact that our leader and best player, who the team falls in line behind always, has a "Zero Dark 23" period where he drops every social media outlet and focuses on nothing but basketball, which he only brings out for the playoffs, and yet we still have fans who question if this team really does "turn it on or up to another level" in the playoffs is laughable to me...

It's not all effort...it's about personnel as well. Last year we had the right components to be a respectable defensive team (top 10) while still fucking around.

This year we're genuinely incompetent and you can't chalk all that up to a lack of effort.

We literally have the same personnel who shut the Warriors historic offense down in 3 straight games last year...

It's a lot of lack of effort, and a lot of lack of prep that teams aren't afforded the time to do in the regular season...that is a big factor the people who complain about the team seem to overlook time and time again.

Couple that in with the key to our defense hiding himself on defense and putting in 0 effort on that end in the regular season, and its easy to see why some people aren't worried.

Team follows LeBron's lead...he comes out fully engaged on both ends, so will the rest of the guys. He comes out half-assing it on one end, so will the rest of the guys...now, which one do you think LeBron will do in the playoffs?

True but we also have to realise that our Defense even in the Playoffs last year wasnt that great..

Our defense was only 7th in the Playoffs allowing 106 Points per 100.
It was solid enough to not harm us but was nothing to write home about..

Our Defense does not have to be elite to win the Title.. it just has to get back to decent.. wich by all means i think is reasonable to expect.

JR has just gotten back.. so did Love.. once everybody is healthy and has a role we will look better on defense.

Wont be elite but i think it will be enough

Yeah this is also a huge Part of why i am really confident.

Lebron not only becomes super dominant on offense in the Playoffs but he also becomes the best defender in the NBA by FAR. He locks down 1-5 if needed and keeps the rest of our Team sharp.

Lebron is really at ease with the Team ... so am i. If Lebron feels we are good.. we are good.
I trust him.

I'm not worried about the team at all, except for:

Health
Sync (do we have enough time to get in sync when/if everyone healthy?)
Warriors doing better again

If the Warriors weren't starting to play well again, I wouldn't be worried at all. But since they are doing better after slumping, I hope we can find our form and be healthy soon.

Just a heads up if u have issues watching games I recently discovered some uploaders on YouTube put up the torrents online. Usually within hours just search.

I think people are utterly confused what happened last year.

We were a good defensive team in the regular season. And we were a good defensive team in the playoffs. We weren't great in either.

We are a terrible defensive team this year.

But I guess we can just pretend everything is exactly the same if it feels better.

When you see little things like guys going under PnRs against shooters, or drifting off shooters while off the ball, or not fighting through screens, or losing track of shooters in general, you know, shit you wouldn't see in the playoffs when properly prepared and tuned into the game plan, its easy not to take much from the regular season defense.

If we get to the playoffs and we keep doing that, we won't make the Finals, which I doubt this team lets happen.

Also...12 games we have had a fully healthy and good to go roster on a gameday. It's game 70 tomorrow. That's pretty ridiculous that 57 games this year at least one rotation piece has been out of the game. Oh, and all 12 of those happened when Mike Dunleavy was still on the team, just to give people an idea how long it has been since we've had our full roster available to us on a gameday.

Shit, we've completely changed the defensive scheme since the last time we had a fully healthy roster all at the same time.

Curious if/how that skewed our numbers this season.
