Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Other than the obvious need for a Center, one player I think Cleveland needs to go after is Alec Burks from the Jazz. Utah has a logjam at SG with several above average players fighting for minutes. This guy is all heart and hustle, and would instantly be the best wing defender for the Cavs. He is just above average at everything except hustle which is well above average.

He had one of the worst defensive ratings on the Bucks and had a bottom five offensive rating in the NBA. He was absolutely trash for them and got way too many minutes. Regardless of his personality issues which I admit to knowing nothing about, I’m pretty sure it’s his game that keeps getting him cut.
 
If we're so concerned about this pick falling in the 8-10 range, couldn't we just trade our 1st to move up into the top 5?

Sadly the way things are looking, we're going to be standing pat and rolling with the roster the way it is. So likely we'll still have the 1st to dangle on draft day.

That would work in the NFL, that's not how the pick value chart works in the NBA.

It would take the #8 + ~3 non-lottery 1st round picks to move up into the top-6 in this draft.
 
Think the Lakers would do something like Zizic + 2nd (?) for Julius Randle? They get a cheap long-term contract in exchange for an expiring who they aren't planning to re-sign at the end of the year anyway.

We could soak randle into the Dunleavy TPE if we did it today.

Can’t combind a player with a TPE so no zizic unless you did a work around. But that wouldn’t be a terrible move if we didn’t mind paying the 10-12M it might take to retain him.
 
With the Lakers making Randle/Nance/Clarkson available - would love to try and get Nance or Randle - we know they don't want to take back any salary past this year. We could get younger and more athletic.

Sorry - that was shorthand. You just do it in two trades, per usual:

1.) Cavs send 2nd round pick to Lakers for Zizic (get him using TPE).

2.) Lakers send top-55 protected 2nd round pick to Cavs for Zizic (get him using salary cap room).
 
Just saw the post game interview with IT. He said it was frustrating trying to work on his timing and fit in with this group because the only time he can work on it is during games "since we don't practice" - Does anybody else have a problem with this????? This team needs a lot of practice because of all of the new players and if you don't practice because of their "age" - well then I would recommend you get younger!!!!
 
Call the Clippers and pray they take JR, TT and the Nets pick for DJ and whatever else they feel like throwing in.

Rotate Wade and Shump at the starting 2 until we can package the latter with another asset to upgrade at that spot.

We can get better while taking out the trash all at once, but I question the brass' balls.

Oh, and send Lue out of town on a horse and offer Fizdale the position on the condition that he sends LeBron to the showers the moment he exhibits no interest in a regular season game.

I really dont want to give the nets pick for DJ since he is on a rental but can't help but imagine the upgrade in toughness and defensive rebounding alone. I dont mind getting beat but hate to see guys run over us getting offensive boards almost every trip down.

I also wouldn't be too tore up about using the nets pick. Even if its 5th or so not a very good chance at all the player will turn into anything outstanding. Just dont think it would take that much to get him if they get the feeling he's leaving anyway

Im with you though about getting rid of JR and TT. We have too many players that set a bad attitude for the team when it comes to toughness, heart, and giving 110%. I think IT will play that way but sure could infuse a few Dellys into the lineup to set the tone
