Open Discussion (Cavs + related issues)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yesterdays loss speaks volumes. I can see Thibodeau pre game telling his players "we can beat these mfkers, everyone else does. Come out focused and hammer them. We all in or what?"
Then you got Lue all casual chumming up with our guys, talking about some lame shit, dinner plans, instagram, who the fuk knows.
And I mentioned in the game thread that Brad Stevens must be better than I gave him credit for. He found a way to make Crowder and even IT better than they actually are. We need some changes and quick. We can't dominate anyone anymore. Am I panicking, yes to a degree. I can see a losing streak longer than the winning streak we had coming fast. We can lose to any team anywhere. It's beyond pitiful to lose like we did yesterday.

We know the Cavs are good enough to win the East...that's not the issue.

With LeBron James the one goal should be a championship. The sobering reality is that we can't even play on the same court as the Warriors as presently coached and constructed. Some would say (fairly) that Durant made competing with them impossible, but I do think the development of good habits and the integration of the right personnel could give us a puncher's chance.

These guys should KNOW how razor-thin the margin for error is against this team; they came out and fucked around all last year, breezed through the East and got embarrassed in the Finals. The "switch flip" works in the Eastern Conference, it won't work against this team.

So we're at a crossroads. Either we're content with beating up on the East and being made the Warriors' bitch, or we decide as organization that we want to take the fight to them. If it's the former, then you're making it difficult for LeBron to want stay here any longer (even though he's part of the problem.) If it's the latter, then we need to make changes. It's that simple.

Yup. The organization started going wrong in July 2016 when Durant went to the Warriors and they apparently didn't think they needed to take any risks to make major roster changes. Then in summer 2017, when it was even more obvious that such changes were needed, they let opportunities go by and made a flawed and risky trade with the Celtics. The FO has been complacent and not shown a true sense of urgency about competing with the Warriors.

What about trying to get George Hill? He's supposedly on the block now.

I haven't watched Sacramento this year - so not sure how much his D has degraded (his DRPM looks terrible this year, but he was a top-10 PG last year, and top-15 the year before).

He's shooting 47% on 3PTers this year, and is career 39%.

While he's traditionally a PG, you could start him at SG in JRs spot, and then you can, on occasion, switch to have him guard the more dangerous opposing guard (you normally have to switch IT off tough assignments anyway).

Sure as long as it’s not for the Brooklyn pick. He’s not much of a SG though.

Toronto could be without Lowry (injury) and Ibaka (potential suspension) tomorrow against us

It's not exactly like Delly has been lighting it up for Milwaukee. After back to back seasons of shooting 40 percent from three for the Cavs, Delly shot 36.7% from three last season and is shooting 37.1 % from three this year. In fact from the field in general, he shot a woeful 39% last year and an even worse 38.3% this year. And though he went to Milwaukee to be starter, he was relegated to the bench before long last season and has continued in that role this year.

I like Hill but he has PG size (6'3", 190) not SG size.

He'd still be by far the Cavs best player at defending 1s or 2s. Hill would be an awesome addition since he doesn't need the ball, is dangerous from three, and has played very good defense throughout his career.
