Open Discussion (Cavs + related issues)

This seriously has to be the laziest, least motivated Cavs team since the John Lucas / Lamond Murray days. They simply do not care about the regular season. Nothing new, but some of these games have approached that 2014 stretch.

LeBron leading the league in minutes. I don't care about "total minutes" - he's only rested three games. If teams like the Thunder and Rockets can limit Westbrook's and Harden's minutes, why can't we do the same with LeBron?

He's turning it over a lot more and I think it's due to being gassed and being the primary playmaker all game. We desparately need a point guard who can make plays and take the load off LeBron...waiting until the trade deadline is just going to put even more stress on LeBron.

The 2nd unit is killing him this season. He cannot pass the ball to himself.

So have the Cavs just acknowledged that TT isn't a true center and can't be trusted in "clutch minutes"?

It's a joke.....we are paying TT too much money to play 25 mins a game...,,
Pretty much my feelings.... TT can not protect the rim because he is simply to small, not having that 2nd line of defense with our sieve guards is killing us.

You know what would help...?

An Andrew Bogut, Kyke O'Quinn, or some other big body that could enforce the paint and spell TT at a moments notice....

We are all finesse without the key skills of a great finesse big man. We are in trouble right now....this team just isn't good enough. Like not close......

Why can't we get a guy like this just to have them around.

The last time we drafted a center was who zeller? Why can't we just grab a young big every now and again.

Like i said few weeks back...

Give me liberty or give me depth..

I'm worried about what Griffin said that he's not sure if he agrees with LeBron about the Cavs needing a rim protecting center.... I agree with LeBron. we all agree with LeBron. I just hope us getting destroyed again and again in the paint because Tristan Thompson is completely useless is enough for Griffin to see the light.

I also tried to downplay Delly leaving, but he made our 2nd unit work and took a ton of workload off LeBron, now hes holding the ball all game not sure what we can do to fix our 2nd unit?

It's not all about size, Draymond Green is smaller but protects the rim very well., Its about defensive IQ, understanding positioning and sliding over to help in time.

TT lacks all of it that's why hes always out of position or too late, He doesn't have proper technique and he lacks the understanding of where to be and when to be there, He tries to block every shot by swiping one of his hands instead of keeping both hands up while jumping straight up, but most of the time hes completely out of position anyway so that doesn't really matter as well..

LMAO. I was ranting to my friend and said that we need a back-up point guard, good 3&D guy and a rim-protector. He told me, I should have just asked for a complete 5-man team instead! :chuckle:

And oh, Come Back, Sweet Prince!

What could you guys even trade us for O'Quinn that we would even want? I'm also not sure O'Quinn solves any of your problems anyway. He is like the big man version of Shumpert - shows flashes of promise drowned out by long stretches of perplexing inconsistency.

It's hard for me to get a handle on if we really need it because our wings have been so pathetic at defending. I mean, I guess we obviously need a rim protector if our guys are just going to continually let perimeter players drive straight to the rim with no resistance.

If we make an honest defensive effort? I think TT and LeBron can at least provide enough help side to make it work. Is it ideal? No but if the collective effort continues to be what it is on that end of the floor, there's no silver bullet there from a personnel perspective. Straight line drives, right at anyone's bigs, are going to crush any team who doesn't have a Gobert (which isn't a realistic ask of Griff). The defensive stuff is on the guys we have IMO.

The one thing we desperately need is not even a backup PG at this point but a bench scorer. I'd be beating down Denver's door for someone like Barton (who's maybe an odd man out). Exhaust all assets we have left and just be done with it. Having scoriung juice in the second unit would mask a lot of our problems. Our biggest issue right now is that the entire bench is comprised of guys who need someone else to get them shots. Having another guy in that unit who can get his own offense would dramatically help IMO.

Now, as to wether we even make a move? Who knows. The team just needs to stay healthy and tread water at this point.

We don't need anyone for the playoffs. Who are we honestly going to get that is good enough to replace someone on this list?

Irving, James, Love, TT, Sumpert, JR, Korver, Frye, RJ

That's 9 players, and Liggins makes 10.

Lue is not going to run a 10 man rotation in the playoffs.

Once LeBron moves to the 4 in the stretch run of the regular season, all of our problems are solved. Could we use an insurance big and an extra playmaker for the remainder of the season? For sure.

But if you think we're adding anyone who contributes to our playoffs rotation then you're kidding yourselves. LeBron at the 4 is the solution. And it will come at the end of the regular season as it always does.

Patience young padwans. LeBron at the 4 is coming...
