To me averaging 37% from 3 on a non-Lebron team over an extended period shows you are a legit NBA long distance shooter and will probably shoot 40% playing with Lebron.
Delly was never a really good player in isolation but he was a very good role player for us because he A) played good, energetic defense and was switchable B) faciliated the offense in a calm and trustworthy manner (look at his A-T ratio with us), and C) hit open 3s. Turns out it's not so easy to find even a spare bench player like that.
To be clear, I don't think he sucks - he's useful, especially to the Cavs for the reasons you pointed out. I've posted time and time again that the Cavs made a mistake letting him go. I just don't think he has been particularly good since he left the Cavs, which makes me wonder how good he really is in a vacuum. I also wonder, when people call for trading for Delly, what exactly his role on the team would be this year when the Cavs have two better point guards (IT and Wade) already on the roster (not to mention Rose and Calderon, who are going to struggle to get minutes with everyone healthy).
