Cavs are awful right now and are desperate to win to get to the playoffs this year. That is why this trade was made. We risk losing him after he season. If the guy walks we basically go back to sucking ass again.

This team wasn't bad enough to finish in the Top 3-5 & end up with an elite talent..

Deng alone isn't going to get the Cavs the playoffs. Trading Bynum for a useful player, even if it is a rental (he won't be going to a team like Miami thankfully) and not giving up too much. I do agree that Gilbert/Grant are trying hard to get playoffs in -the wrong year- to do it. But Mike Brown is going to ensure this team misses the playoffs. Those who are optimistic that this team will make the 'offs in current form unless some other changes are made... LOL

Come on...we're a few games out of 8th and a few more out of 5th. The EC sucks.. No doub't we're in now.

The fact we got anything for Bynum and going through the sac team and that pick might be a waste eventually. Rental or not anyone who thinks this Is a bad trade Is just stupid. This trade gives us

A. A chance to see how we play with a smart and actually talented SF,
B. He walks or leaves this team retains their cap space
C. Gives us a chance to use our own pick this year for yet another trade for an all-star type player by the deadline If a team Is selling.
D. Good guy and should be a positive Influence on the younger players.

So bottom line the only downfall Is this will cost us draft position, however they way things were playing out we were not going to break the top 5 or 6 anyways so. Well done Grant.

I bet we could trade Andy and filler for Gasol if we wanted, but I'm not sure there is much point in that. Maybe, it would leave us alot of flexibility this off season and a great shot in the playoffs this year, but who knows what else might become available. Patience is key now.
