PC Building Crew

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@ the bolded portion of your post: this is fucking irrelevant. We are talking about building gaming PCs and benchmarking cards and the like. ARE YOU AN ENTHUSIAST OF THIS HOBBY? Clearly not, as you are railing against it incessantly. Thus, you are not an enthusiast of this hobby. Simple.

Actually, you said I wasn't an "enthusiast", when in fact I'm most certainly a "PC Enthusiast", a "Technology Enthusiast", a "Gaming Enthusiast", an "A/V Enthusiast", a "Sports Enthusiast", etc, etc, etc, etc. When I buy new h/w, I most certainly pay attention to the benchmarks, performance, reliability, cost, reviews, opinions, etc, etc, etc. And yes, I consider it all to be a "hobby".

But like I've told you, enthusiast does not mean fool, idiot, or even blind allegiance to a platform. If you can't handle an alternate opinion, you're the one who needs to get out. KCOTT is certainly capable of making up his own mind, he doesn't need you trying to do it for him.

So you like building gaming rigs and benchmarking cards and shit.

You just think people who do that and spend that money are idiots.

Forgive me for being confused, because that is a fucking retarded concept.

My disdain for your posts in here stem from that, and the fact that you are in a "PC building thread" railing against people who spend the money on gaming rigs and enjoy the hobby while also claiming it is your hobby. The contradictions and hypocrisy are stupid. End it.

As for KCOTT, I can assure you, and he will testify to this, I did not hold a gun to his head and make him post:

anyway, battlefield 3 on a computer shits on the xbox version

i have both, it's hard to enjoy it on xbox

Quit being a clown.

I have it on PS3 and PC. The game is fun on console, it's just not as good. The game is balanced for a much larger conflict than what is delivered on PS3/console.

I pretty much agree with this guy (minus the homefront content, although that game can be fun too)

Interesting. I've played both versions and can fully support this case.

And yet, you still did not give one example or even an anecdote how the claimed "decreased destructibility" effected your gaming experience.

You just don't get it.

We don't think about things the same way so your opinions have no value to me.

Your observations regarding the game play experience on the other hand (if your being honest) are something that can actually be evaluated by each person reading your comments and they can decide on their own if it would be pertinent to them.

A fanboy is someone who falls victim to hype to the extent they keep repeating it like a mantra - without regard for how much better it really makes the game experience.

Now this guy really makes the point:

Um, what?

I have to list how destructible environments affect my "game experience" or else it's an invalid point? Err, okay ... they um, add immersion to the game, make it more visually appealing, make the battles seem more hectic and frenzied and ...

Ok, this is fucking stupid.

The guy in the video seems to want/expect constant action, constant spawning, but I rather enjoyed in Bad Company 1 how there was a build up to the battle and there was some actual strategy involved in how your group attacked the targets. Certainly map size to # of players either scales well, or it doesn't, but personally I'm not looking for a constant frag fest.

Still have yet to explain to me the logic behind claiming to be a big time PC gaming "hobbyist" and/or "enthusiast" yet in here talking about how idiotic people who spend their $$$ that way are. I'm just a tad confused on this point, and if that is cleared up I'm sure there'd be some common ground.

Umm, no, I said give an example where it changed your experience. The console version of BF3 has destructible environments. So if as you say there are differences, where did those differences make a difference? Like you tried to C4 a building out of your way and while it would completely collapse on the PC, it didn't on the console? What?

I said people who spend money on flashing LEDs for the interior of their PC case or buy more fans than they could possibly need to keep their machine cool are idiots. I wasn't addressing anyone in this thread. Do you have a confession you'd like to make? ;)

I agree that there doesn't need to be a constant frag fest. After playing on both PC and console, I've noticed that there are times on console when there is especially little tension. It can be like a stroll in the park and enters the "chore" zone when running from flag to flag with little resistance. ESPECIALLY if the other team is camping with snipers near their spawn. This isn't every game, but happens relatively frequently.

One decent squad can dominate on console. One awesome squad can dominate on PC. There is a difference in strategy/skill imo. I've had fun on the console, but it's not as good in more ways than just graphics.

FYI, I enjoy gaming in general on consoles more than on PCs. Controllers are more comfortable to me, my real life friends are on it, and it's convenient to not have to set up/patch/troubleshoot. I have a 4 year old computer that can play BF3 (not on very high settings), but I have way more fun playing on my roomate's newer gaming rig. I think some games just play better on PC, and others on console. I would never play any COD (after COD4) on a computer.

After doing some more research, not sure if I'll be able to build myself a PC after all. I need to buy a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and a desk too which is going to add up to like $1000 or something. Looks like I'll be sticking with consoles....

I have to admit that I really got in to the first map for Bad Company 1 because it was released as part of a free multi player beta, and never built up much of a feel for the others. I like vehicles and that map featured them. It was also pretty easy to navigate. But clearly there were players who mastered all the maps and knew exactly where they were and what they needed to be doing. It takes time to really understand the balance issues with a map.

If they're smart they'll handle balancing of the console game .vs. the PC differently.

Oh, and speaking of objective measures, it's interesting to note that the PS3 version of Battlefield has the highest rating on Amazon, followed by the XBox360, and then the PC.

It seems a lot of PC users are pissed off at the copy protection scheme EA put on the game (not a problem for console users), and of course the typical complaints about the game crashing and burning on somebody's specific hardware (also not a problem for console users - unless their machine is dying, or the port is buggy).

I don't think I've ever bought more than one fan for my PC, and I've never specifically purchased lights for the inside of my PC either ... I'm sure a few people do that, but I don't see how that is even relevant to the thread.

From your earlier posts it seemed you were going after people who simply love building gaming PCs and benchmarking their cards and such.
