Matt Campbell just signed a contract extension with Iowa State.

1 year tacked on to his existing deal and $1M to his assistant pool. Not sure if he also got a raise.

Ok fuck What he's done at Michigan. Just leave that aside. Does anyone remember how he was pushed out in SF because he was an unlikeable douche that players Hated? How the fuck is that not enough to move on from this convo?

And idk what was going on the other day when someone said he didn't have talent in SF. Those teams were LOADED with talent

Yet Kaepernick cant get a job as a backup in the nfl.

I don't want Harbaugh because he is an asshole, but I think he is a very good coach.

I don’t want Jim here either, but Kaep not being on a roster has zero to do with Harbaugh or Kaep’s ability as a QB.

“Neither” is an option, though.
I mean, I guess, but the only other real, legitimate option seems to be Arians. I’d love him. But Campbell just signed an extension, DeFilipo looks awful, Harbough may keep his job, etc.

It’s easy to say there is another option. But I see two - maybe three or four - other possible candidates, and one is McCarthy.

I'd like him to hire a DC that's not his son if we do go with him, though.

If Gregg got the job, it wouldn’t shock me to see him promote Clyde Simmons the defensive line coach. He’s been with Gregg since St Louis.

Either way, Gregg’s got to win a couple more games for this to be a legitimate discussion.

Right, but I think these conversations are based around the assumption that the team finishes strong. If we lose the next three games, I think it's obvious we won't be bringing the staff back, or at least not Gregg. Kitchens might hang on regardless if Arians were to get the head coaching job.

Right, nobody is saying to keep Gregg if we finish the season with only one more win after today. This all assumes we finish with seven or eight wins. Otherwise? No, definitely not.

Personally, I'm not keeping Greggggg even if they win out.

Don't let Baker's emergence fool you into thinking Gregggg is worthy of being the full time head coach.

The defense is still not good and that is what Gregg does. The turn around is Baker AND Kitchens. The little wrinkles he can put in considering its mid season and the play calling has been great.

My desire at this point is give me Arians and Kitchens and a whole new staff besides that.

I just think the opportunity to hire a coach that wants to be in Cleveland for no other reason than he loves the city and the fans is great, especially since he can coach and is a likeable guy.
