Preseason Game 2: Bears at Browns 8/27/22

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Brissett is going to be solid playing with the starters. He won't crash the car, he'll give you what Case gave the Browns against the Donkeys and a little more -- stability that was sorely lacking last season.

With him and Dobbs, I've seen enough. Good enough for QB1 and QB2 for the 1st 11 games. Hopefully it's just Brissett that whole time.

Offensive line health is key, and the penalties need to be cut down. Jacoby will get down the field when he's not facing 1st and 20, 2nd and 17 to start drives.

The "Jimmy G" stuff can be put to bed IMO.
Nice to see a rational comment in here.

I think because of the lack of WR depth and no one really good at being a returner, they can justify keeping Schwartz. He is probably penciled in as the backup kick returner and if they need to expand Felton's role on offense they will put Schwartz in to return kicks.

It may be nothing, but I found it interesting that D. Johnson started at RB but J.Ford only returned kicks. Makes me think Johnson may be on the move and that Ford is RB3.
These are usually games that rookie back up RBs get tons of touches and an extended look.

I would rather them trade DEJ than Hunt, for sure. It was weird seeing who wasplaying and who wasn't. It did seem like certain guys were being auditioned, and some were being tested. Probably not something the average fan could predict, but definitely did *seem* to be something going on.

I haven't really paid attention at all this off-season to the team, but they probably already know what they have in DEJ no point to run him into the ground

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Browns looked to move one or multiple of their areas of strength, particularly RB and OL, for areas of weakness - WR, TE, DT could all be possibilities.

Johnson is unquestionably at the very least a rotation caliber running back in the NFL. He could be an outright starter for some clubs.

Yeah except Johnson played last night and took multiple hits and Ford did not.

Based on how they were used last night, the impression is that Ford is safe and Johnson is on the block.

He’s definitely a solid backup but the teams that have a RB need are in rebuilds so they aren’t probably spending the assets to get him.

Gotta say, Josh Dobbs has been very impressive all preseason long.

I’ve seen multiple Steelers fans on Reddit warning that Dobbs tends to look great in preseason; regular season, different story entirety

I think they have to try to build up the depth at WR and/or TE for Stefanski to scheme alot of his mismatches in the passing game. My guess is they will try to find a TE, not having 3 playable TEs is going to change alot of what Stefanski leaned on last year.

Oh yeah I read that wrong entirely thought it said ford got most of the action.
