Well, he certainly deserved to get his ass beaten after that. But actually, I'm not sure I saw an ass-beating. Didn't see blood or anything on him, he didn't seem to have a hard time standing up later, and I didn't see any obvious kicks/punches. Bunch of cops all around him, but the uy may have resisted being cuffed and they couldn't get his hands.

I'd argue you that beating a guy before you get him restrained actually puts you in more danger, but I guess several haymakers is just as good as handcuffs.

I really think that puts perps on the defense and restricts the potential for aggression. Ive been in those situations, I've been left to think thoughts. If I was physically restrained, I wouldn't have the opportunity. Those options would be obviated
