Raptors Privately Considering Trading Bosh

May 31, 2009 2:29 PM EST
The Raptors are privately acknowledging for the first time that they might need to trade Chris Bosh, rather than risk losing him to free agency in 2010, according to a report from the New York Daily News.

The Bulls remain interested in Bosh, but Luol Deng would have to be part of a package going to the Raptors.

Bosh could also end up in Detroit in a package that would net the Raptors Carlos Boozer, according to the report.

The best news that could come about after last night. Let's bring him here this summer. Offer Hickson, Ben's contract and agree to a low buyout, our pick, Pavs, and Gibson/Andy if they want.

We aren't getting Bosh. No way that they take Ben's contract, a project who may or may not turn out in Hickson, and picks. Chicago can offer Brad Miller's contract, Tyrus Thomas, and picks.

Bosh is a long shot. He'd pretty much have to force a trade to the Cavs if we were to get him.

Teams with reported interest like the Bulls and the Warriors can offer better deals and more young talent than the Cavs can.

Love to have him and I won't give up hope but I just doesn't see it as realistically happening.

I don't really want Bosh. He's soft as Charmon

If they're privately considering it, how in the hell do we know it?

So is Rashard Lewis and Pau Gasol.....

I'd take him because he can hit the outside j and still go inside when he has to. I'd like to see Ferry try and stick his nose in on a deal for Bosh.

Its an NYC story, real reliable with this kinda thing... Seriously I'll bet it it's made up. And even if they were considering it, they'd need an amazing offer since they really want to keep him.

I'd love him but aint happening.

How is Boozer going to end up in Detroit, let alone Toronto?

This is great, simply because teams that might want Amare will focus their energy on Bosh.

I agree that we do not have the best chance to acquire him on our own, but isn't there a chance that Danny Ferry will pull off a 3 team deal? Find a team who has younger, proven talent who is looking for a salary dump. I think there is a way this gets done. Obviously, if CB4 wants to come here it would make things either, but I guess we'll find that out soon.

I hope so. Looking at our roster, something needs to be done:

Daniel Gibson - Trade him. What do you get in a player who can do nothing but shoot, and then they can't even do that?

JJ Hickson - I'd like to keep him in less a deal comes along that requires us to involve Hickson.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas - Slow, don't trade him, but move him to the bench.

Darnell Jackson - Like Hickson, he is a nice young player, but if we need to, we can trade him.
LeBron James - Untouchable.
Tarence Kinsey - Maybe sign him maybe not. Who cares, he isn't key to the team.

Sasha Pavlovic - Bye.

Joe Smith - Bye.

Wally Szczerbiak - See ya.

Anderson Varejao - Re-sign

Ben Wallace - Hopefully use his contract in a trade.

Delonte West - Untouchable.

Mo Williams - Untouchable.

Lorenzen Wright - Sucks. Good bye.

That leaves the Cavs with this:

Mo Williams/??
Delonte West/Draft pick
LeBron James/?
XXXXXXXXXX/??(maybe Darnell or JJ)
Anderson Varejao/Zydrunas Ilgauskas

Plenty of wholes. Something needs and will happen this summer. Hopefully we can use Ben's contract and more to get something good.

Mo, #21, West
West, Gibson, Posey
Lebron, Posey, Wally
Z-Bo, Andy, Hickson
Chandler, Z, Jackson

Looks alot better now huh? Only 2 trades...

Ben and 30 for Chandler, Posey and 21

Then

Z, Sasha for Z-bo and a first in the next few years

Clipps agree to buy out Z so cavs can use MLE to get Z back.

All-star PG, Good SG, Best player in the game at SF, a 20/10 PF, Good C, Bench = 20x better then last years.

Dude, seriously, please stop. What is your obsession with Zach Randolph? The dude has serious problems. If I'm concerned about Amar'e Stoudemire bringing an attitude why in God's earth would I not worry about Z-Bo as well?!

My reaction is at 0:32 to 0:36:

Not to rain on the trade parade (since everyone, including myself, is still sensitive), but we're not getting Chandler and Posey for just Ben Wallace, let alone a swap of picks. They aimed for that deadline deal as a partial salary dump of Chandler's contract (hence why Joe was involved). However, not only would Joe have been part of their playoff rotation, Wilcox was a shoe-in for starting center.

So I ask, why in the hell would they get rid of Chandler and Posey for a straight salary dump? They would be left with very thin up front and would be adding of their better all-around players (Posey) who wasn't in the original deadline deal for nothing. I won't even address the pick swap because... well, it's retarded to be frank.
