Wonder Woman - 3.8/10

Sigh.

Like, I get there was some very cool scenes, including one great action sequence. Gadot was pretty good, her and Chris Pine had good chemistry, and I thought her character was written pretty well.

But that movie is a mess. Plot is nonsensical. The first 30 minutes is all exposition...and really shitty exposition. The CGI was complete balls. It contained pretty much every comic book cliche, but just did it poorly. I don't understand the universal acclaim for this movie.

That is disappointing.

I think people just want DC to make a decent film. The praise may be a product of that in the same way Revenge of the Sith received a lot of praise simply because it was a lot better than AOTC or TPM.

Wish I didn't see this. I'm about to leave to go see it now.

Free Fire - 6/10

A decent plot about an arms exchange gone bad in an abandoned building. It stars Cillian Murphy , Brie Larson and Armie Hammer. The movies pace is good but it drags and can be made crisper. The acting was good.

Speaking of Wonder Woman Im pretty sure a lot of these "women only" screenings violate either state or local law.

I wish I were here was decent. Always liked Zach Braff.

I like Wonder Woman for the most part. I can agree that the plot was lacking, but I thought that WW's action scenes were really good.

I was led astray from the Superfriends cartoons of my youth. Wonder Woman is so much more powerful than they led me to believe. Can she beat up Superman?

Also, Gal Gadot is so flippin hot.

Wonder Woman- 6.8 out of 10

The hype was a little excessive so I went in expecting disappointment. The plot was a little too loose for my tastes but it did what I expect from comic book movies: keep my attention, progress the character enough to lead into the next movie, and give me some bad assery. This one worked on all those levels. Choosing a misunderstood and underrepresented war as the backdrop certainly wasn't easy, and it wasn't pulled off all that well imo. However, at the end of the day, this was about introducing Wonder Woman and it did that pretty well.

Can you folks expand on who the baddie was and were they actually bad ?

The baddy was actually British Imperialism, which Wonder Woman mistook for Ares. BI then transmogrified into a character from WarCraft but then still lost.

Saw Wonder Woman this evening... 6.5/10 .. Was definitely worth seeing, an above-average action/adventure movie and way above average comic book movie.

Is there anything about the movie that stands out? Other than some really good action scenes, no. But, you could say that about almost every comic book movie to date.

It's kinda sad because I'm a former comic book collector; and even I'm getting tired of these movies.

Nonetheless, Gal Gadot was very good in the role of a young Diana still learning of the world. Captain Kirk was better as Kirk in this movie than he was in any of the Star Trek reboot movies (tells you that Pine can be Kirk, just how fucking awful he's directed). The supporting cast was decent-to-good.

And I actually thought the movie started off strong; with the first act being among the better of the three; with the final scenes being really poorly done (almost comically so, like, c'mon).

Nonetheless, it was worth seeing, just, should've had a bit more Wonder Woman kicking German-ass ... those scenes were by far the best in the movie.

Wonder Woman question

Obviously in BvS, WW has her sword back. How does that happen? Endless supply?

Finally saw the new Alien...it was ok, just felt there was no purpose other than explaining Prometheus.
