Watched Sully...Tom Hanks was great in it. It was an engrossing watch...quick and to the point...It seemed to go by so quickly that i was shocked when Clint Eastwood was listed as director at the end...must've forgotten since it's original release date....one of his shortest running times as a director.
The only thing that irked me was that it vilified the aerial insurance company that assessed the water landing a bit too much. I know that they conducted an investigation immediately after the crash but i don't recall it needing a Tom Hanks-y monologue to free Captain Sully of any wrongdoing.
Still worth a watch, IMO. The plane crash (landing? water landing?) scene was tense, especially considering i was just traveling over Xmas. The court stuff that played out was executed well, regardless of it was "done up" a bit to make for a more watchable film.
To date, Tom Hanks has survived Vietnam, a mission-to-the-moon gone haywire, The Cold War, being stranded on a deserted island for years, Somali pirate hostage crisis, a plane crash, and being cast as Robert Langdon in the unwatchable Da Vinci code trilogy. Is there anything this man can't do?
He exposed murderous neighbors, had a relationship that actually grew stronger from a severe real-estate blunder that drained their bank account, had sex with people/things he never should have in the first place, and banged Meg Ryan several times.
