Ray Rice suspended & cut - trouble for Goodell?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Janay Rice better get a job to support their lost income... If she knows what's good for her.

AYOOOO!

Garbage Goodell. If TMZ (of all places) didn't get their hands on the Ray Rice tape, he'd be getting ready to play pretty soon... Sounds like, to me, Roger and his investigative body went as far as the policy said they were required to and dropped it there. Shameful of them to stand behind such futility.

The idea that the NFL hasn't already seen this video is just totally ridiculous. If they somehow haven't, that means that they made almost no effort to obtain it in the first place, which is almost worse because it shows how little of a shit they gave about the issue. If TMZ could get it, certainly one of the most powerful companies in the country could obtain it.

Fuck the Ravens and fuck Roger Goodell even more. Only doing the right thing because they've been forced to. Absolutely despicable. This whole thing was handled about as badly as possible - between having Janay publicly apologize for her role, the slap on the wrist punishment, and the fact that he wasn't cut from the team in the first place.

Also, I wonder if the ban will be upheld. Does this stray into the grounds of double jeopardy, since he was already punished for this crime?

The Player's Association has to be smart enough not to touch this. Trying to fight this would be moronic on their part.

Sadly, nothing surprises me anymore. I would not be surprised to see Ray Rice fight this upgraded punishment, and sadly, it kind of looks like he might have an actual case - not that any team in their right mind would touch him with a ten foot pole anyway if he was to be reinstated.

They totally saw it, but probably never thought it would come to light. If they didn't see it, that fact totally calls into their fact finding for any disciplinary case.

As I said, they look terrible either way.

I'm honestly not sure which scenario is worse. Either they saw the video and gave a laughable slap on the wrist, or they didn't care enough about investigating a domestic violence issue to even bother obtaining a video of it that very much existed.

Does anyone actually think the NFL saw this and didn't think it would get released into the media?

Shit it sucks for my Ravens :( But fuck him, that video is terrible.

The ruling on Rice irritated me greatly during the Gordon saga. I do believe the NFL and Ravens saw the evidence before. All I can say is that I'm glad they EVENTUALLY did the right thing with Rice.

If they want to pull the "due process" card, go ahead and play it as long as this guy is out of the league a while. I'm absolutely positive the businesses threatening to pull advertising revenue and local political groups were instrumental in getting the Rice ruling reviewed, and while I can't believe I'm saying this... I think TMZ just contributed positively to our society. Wow.

haha, yup

No respect for Baltimore for waiting this long to finally do this. I guarantee they've had access to the footage for a long time, and would've hung on to Rice if it had not been publicly leaked. Fuck Baltimore and fuck Ray Rice.
