There is an undertone on why so many domestic violence cases never get reported. The women feel they either deserve it or they have no where else better to go.

The abused victim is something that I can't understand. But there are those that believe that it's a "He loves me so much that he hit me to show me how much I hurt him." mentality. The victim seems to be someone who has been made to feel that they are worthless and can never do any better. Stockholm Syndrome, I guess can be used for this type of relationship (not specifically Janay, but just abuse victims, in general).

I can't imagine being in that situation. But personally, if any man ever raised he hand to me once, that's all it would take. I can't live like that. No thank you.

That is what i was referring to as undertone. It is sad that so many allow themselves to continue to be a victim. I dont blame them though, it is a mental block that is as hard to get over as any addiction out there.

I just wish there were ways to help the victims more than we have today.

I don't agree with that. The NFL's TV deals and ratings, franchise values and attendance percentages have clearly outpaced MLB and the NBA since Goodell took over. That was not always the case prior to Goodell

How far prior to Goodell? I wan to say the NFL was pretty far ahead when Goodell took over.

cuz we all know that only what happened on video counts. this was a conitnuation of something that occurred way before they got to the elevator. mrs rice has been far more victimized from the court of public opinion than Ray rice.

I was listening to the radio earlier today and 5 guys called in all outraged all with different descriptions on what they saw in the video. it was amazing.

another radio show had some guy screaming at the atlanta prosecutor for putting the guy in counseling.

the battered woman syndrome doesnt apply to every woman who gets in a physical fight with their boyfriends.

Not the first time the Ravens have had a player with some domestic violence issues before the season. They also didn't have any problem letting him play either. They have shown that they are an organization that values winning more than anything else. I couldn't imagine what the video would have looked like if there was one of the Suggs incident. But the most important part is that he got his first Super Bowl ring that year.

Okay, how about rather than call her a victim we can luckily call her a survivor? How many stories have we heard in the news about someone getting KO'd by a punch only to hit their head on the concrete and die from head trauma? Could have easily happened that night in the elevator


So he apologized and will undergo counseling so he can apply for reinstatement when the time comes in order to support his family. The guy got a full ride to a 4 yr university, maybe he should use his degree to get a job. Maybe he did major in football but how many people do you know majored in one area but had to settle for a career in a totally inrelated field?
