Remaining 2016 Free Agents

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Given the Cavs drafted Kay and that McRae might actually be able to fill the void as our back up point/2 guard. Bringing in Waiters doesn't make much sense.

Especially given that we should be using a roster spot on a big man.

Not another guard that doesn't shoot the ball that well from three, and requires to have the ball in his hands to be effective. And most importantly, hasn't yet learned how to make smart and decisive decisions. That crap was why we got rid of him to begin with.

No chance of it happening but we have no backup PG. So declining to take Dion on a min deal and put him in that spot is a wasted opportunity. You don't pass up affordable talent and athleticism just cuz of an ego. Come on, our big three run the team, Dion can't combat that.

You and I know this, but Dion didn't seem to.

Dions not coming with a free agent min. They wouldn't do a sign and trade as we established that would hard cap the Cavs. There is zero chance Dion comes to Cleveland even if The Cavs weren't able to sign JR Smith

Dion needs to be on a team where he is the back up point guard and second ball handler. If he can have full run of bench ball handling duties and be a teams 6 man, he will stay engaged on both ends of the court. He won't get that one this team and he didn't get it in OKC.

He was miscast from the beginning as a SG and needs the chance to be a PG to reach his peak in the NBA. The cavs isn't that team for him to do that. Hopefully a team like the sixers will give him that chance.

I name I mentioned a few times, but never saw any actual press connections/interest regarding the Cavs.

Assuming though that this is one of those deals, that allows the player to return to NBA in Feb/March

... I actually thought Gee could be a decent end-of-bench, third-string backup to our forwards... :dunno:

Good for him, though. It seems like he's found somewhat of a home in New Orleans.

It amazes me that Gee is still in the league

Was there really almost two pages of people discussing Dion Waiters returning here.. On the veteran minimum?

Yikes. You'd think the Tribe playing so well would help with the offseason and how boring and slow it goes.

Guess not.

I thought he would look cool running the break in a small lineup. He had potential to bring that 3pt% up a bit and just drive, pass, shoot, but his progress stalled and he shied away from taking that corner 3.

what happened to robert upshaw? he was part of the lakers roster last year, right? he has potential as far as i remembered.

Assuming he fits somewhere in between the Hassan Whiteside and Danny Green profile(in a best case scenario), where he takes 3-4 years or bouncing around, being cut, and hitting bottom before he takes being a pro serious enough to capitalize on his size and talents.

Latest update I saw was March 11 of this year when his contract was terminated by the D-League for violating the leagues anti drug program.
