Rodney Hood: Won't be missed

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
His best role is probably a high volume 6th man with sets designed to use love as the playmaker DHO's spilt actions elbow with a wekaside pin or staggered screen. Lowish minutes but high usage and if he's hot extend his mins in the second half and reduce korvers

So a bench gunner best used in spurts?

Seems to pass the eye test given what we have seen thus far. I'm glad to see Love's return has given him space to "get his" on occasion.

Then we find the hot hand each night of Korver, JR, Rodney, & Hill

He looks good with the ball in his hands playmaking and creating movement. Looking forward to his future!

Some would say that our biggest issue is sticking with the hot hand . Not been lues greatest strength this season

Very true, quite often players have played for ten《+》minute stretches during crunch time while the hot hand watches from the pine.

My biggest qualm is the guys become so gassed they can't even get up the court on O. But yet our gameplan states '#PlayFast'

Quicker subs, more active defenders, greater motion on offense, higher margin of success

No need to reinvent the game.

What is his best role within this team?

How do we maximize his positive shooting ability while limiting the tough twos and missed defensive assignments or help coverage on cutters and shooters?

Seems like running a few of those Korver motion double screen sets for him would be a good place to start.
He can learn a lot from Korver.

But i think this year he is off the bench scoring energy when teams are hacking lebron and love. Future can be a starting role, but he needs to pplay defense and figure out consistency.

Quietly averaging 14.9 ppg and shooting 38.3% from three. Those are 2015-2017 JR numbers. Exactly what we needed.

That’s his overall season average, whereas for us he’s only averaging 10.8 points on 35.8% from three

He seems like a sensitive person. Really need to push the right buttons.

His last six games: 14.3 ppg and shooting 45% from three.

Exactly .. he has been a welcome addition to the starting lineup

They have also been letting him handle the ball more recently. I think it has helped him keep engaged and in rythem.

Lue is doing an amazing job with figuring out in a short time how to implement all these new guys .
