Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (spoilers)

Also, Maul returned during the Clone Wars and Rebels TV series, if you want to revisit that character.

What character? Maul didn't have a character. He was just there to look badass and participate in an overly-choreographed fight scene.

Star Wars Celebration, which is basically the Star Wars version of comic-con, is happening this Thursday through Sunday.

Seems likely that there will be a full trailer for The Last Jedi on Friday. Also, I think they will announce the next spin off movie. Some think it will be an Obi Wan movie staring Ewan Mcgregor, others think it'll be a bounty hunter movie featuring Boba Fett.

What took them this long to do some spin-offs? Those seem like no-brainer cash cows.

Lucas controlled everything before, and presumably he wasn't interested in letting other filmmakers create their own spin on Star Wars. Now that Disney owns everything, they are free to do what they want with the franchise.

Wasn't there a Boba Fett movie planned at some point and was pushed out?

Edit: Damn spell check.

It was originally rumored that the 3rd spin off would be a Boba Fett movie. Josh Trank was all set to direct. Then after Fan4stic was such a disaster, he was shown the door. There's a possibility they've always planned on doing it, but needed to find a new director.

Back in 2006 or so they said they were going to do a live-action Boba Fett show but I think that eventually became the Clone Wars instead.
