Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
My favorite part about the prequels was how Palpatine was so obviously the Sith lord and yet not a single Jedi or anyone else could figure it the fuck out.

Especially after Count Dooku spelled it out for them in Episode II. One couldn't help but feel he'd hope the Jedi would find out about Sidious so he could be the Sith Master. Idiot Jedi. Couldn't even be bothered to conduct an even cursory investigation.

My favorite part of Plinkett's prequel reviews is when he keeps on spelling out how obvious the Sith plan is and keeps tossing in "Palpatine's behind it all" in between every other sentence. :chuckle:

RLM's review of Death Wish III was epic. I'm pretty sure most Republican legislators think Death Wish III is real life regarding violent crime rates.

Fun Fact: Star Trek: The Next Generation's Counselor Deanna Troi was raped to death in Death Wish III.

My favorite RLM moment will always, always be this:

"Now, I'm no stranger to the Indiana Jones films. Other than Star Wars, Star Trek, and the Olsen twins movies, it's my favorite series of films to masturbate to."

And then this fucking clip (NSFW):

The first time I saw this I damn near died laughing. So amazing.

Have you ever heard the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?

Rogue One edited to run right into a New Hope. Pretty remarkable attention to detail with the sets / outfits, etc.

The talk about the transmissions being beamed seems a little weird since Vadar watched the plans get handed off literally minutes beforehand but I suppose it was possible that there were transmissions being made as well.

Well, the original transmission came from the planet's surface to the Rebel ship, so maybe he was referring to that?

I don't think Vader knew the plans were hand carried. I don't think he saw the guy as he was focused on wrecking that squad of Rebel Troopers. His intent was to board the Tantive before it could take off.

It is reasonable to think that both the Flagship and the Tantive IV received transmission. With the Profundity going no where it would be correct to try to stop the smaller vessel from escaping too.

Just watched it again today (3rd viewing). Damn, this may be the best film in the entire franchise. Can I say that, or is that sacrilege? :party smiley 004:

I went in expecting to not like K2SO, but he was pretty funny, actually. I think he had one of the best lines of the movies after laying an escaping Erso out, "Congratulations, you're being rescued! Please do not resist."

Well...I may agree with you. The only thing that even approached a wrong note to me was her Felicity Jones' speech to the council to convince them to help her. Didn't think it came across well.

But other than that, I just loved the whole tone of it. I like Diego Luna's role and performance more every time I see it. I find it interesting that my teenage son and his friends were kind of "meh" about the whole thing. Not enough Force-type stuff for them, which is probably one of the things I appreciated the most about it.

I hated the blind dude.

Also never ever say it was the best film in the series. Empire will never be touched. The Bespin dual is quite literally one of the best scenes In movie history.

Sacrilege, but at least you think it's better than The Force Awakens.

I can at least see the argument that it's the best. It was a very good film. I agree that Empire was better, but I think I liked Rogue One better than Return and probably better than New Hope as well, although admittedly it's been years since I watched the original trilogy. It's also worth noting that Empire had the advantage of being the second movie in a trilogy, which means we all knew and liked the characters right from the first shot. They didn't have to spend any time introducing us to them.
