Round 3 - Pick 74 - Cedric Tillman, WR, Tennessee

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The stuff I wrote in the round 3 thread...

A lot of draftniks felt Tillman working the sideline routes was better than Hyatt who had generated touches and fly patterns.

Tillman was incredible before Hooker's injury. For my money he is the most physical receiver in the draft class. He's a safe bet as a possession receiver, as he dropped only five of his 104 career catchable targets.

I would have wanted Adebawore or Washington but Watson gets a weapon.

Well I kind of picked him in the mock draft!

He's a big WR... 2nd round grade on him. Very good hands... His only real problem is he's not a great athlete otherwise, he does everything well

@Out of the Rafters at the Q is a guy I believed that really liked him

We need defensive line help, but you bring in Watson you got to get him weapons. Moore is the small speed guy and Tillman the big strong one. Wideouts get injured every year, for now Tillman gives us a 4th playable guy at the position where a few months ago I figured we only had two.

I think Tillman is a good receiver. I had him rated ahead of Hyatt... but I've come back around to liking Hyatt lately. Still prefer Tillman but it was tight.

I wouldn't have taken a receiver at 74 with Amari/DPJ/Elijah already on the roster and a slew of depth players behind then.

I think this is an example of analytics and positional value trumping the more efficient roster addition.

Don't like the pick. Do like the player. Tillman instantly is a better David Bell and gives us the ability to let DPJ walk if he gets offered a bunch of money.

He gives us another element so on paper, this was a good idea I believe...
