Series 30 Angels @ Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
not sure I have ever seen such a shaming over a couple pages. What compares? @The Oi @bill Walton

@Randolphkeys

Hey that's alright! Zimmer is proving me wrong again, but I'll take it if it means he is playing like he is now! Keep up the shaming good sirs! I'll take anything you can throw at me as long as it means Zimmer keeps producing!

I don't think the Royals long term should actually go for the playoffs, but they have decided they are so we better watch out for them. Indians on paper are a better team, but no one is hotter than the Royals and they are on our butts way to closely for comfort!

Zim Shady got wind of being sent back to the minors

If ZImmer gets any hotter, he will almost be as productive as Tyler Naquin was last season at this time of year.

If I were a Royals fans, I'd want them to make one last run with this group of guys because the next couple of years are going to be rough for them. They're 31-17 since the end of May and have put themselves squarely in the Central and Wild Card run. The rental market is weak this year and even though Moose, Cain, Hosmer and Vargas would be hot commodities, I don't think the return would be all that special.

At the game last night.

Zimmer is a freak. Love this kid.

Don't care what we do at the deadline(I mean I care, but..), Zimmer has to stay right where he's at.

I love how he leads off, too. Tito has some decisions to make once we keep Kipnis back.

Royals also have one of the worst farm systems in baseball and will end up only resigning maybe one or two guys of the 6-7 guys hitting the free agency market. They are considered a smaller market as well, so if their gamble doesn't make them the playoffs they are doing a really, really risky gamble long term. This is the last season for the team and it will likely be another 2-3 years before they can even think about the playoffs again since they likely will not have the talent next season and are lacking home grown depth.

They're currently sitting in a Wild Card spot, 1.5 games back in the division and playing like one of the hotter teams in baseball since June. Selling off their fan favorites to prop up their shitty farm system, instead of going for it one last time is a sure fire way to piss off their entire fan base. Detroit didn't get a Top 100 prospect for JD Martinez, the rental market is not that favorable for sellers.

Boston and New York made a lot of sense for Moose, as would the Yankees for Hosmer, but both have already made moves to shore up the positions some. Would they be willing to part with a top prospect to pry them away when they both have the opportunity to sign them in the offseason? Probably not.

But they're going for it!

The Royals actually have a really good fan base, so I don't think it would piss them off like it would in Cleveland. It is one of those damn if you do and damned if you don't situation so they are like heck, let's just go for it and see what happens! They should end up with some compensation picks next season regardless so maybe that will help them long term. It would be a hard decision either way if you were running the organization since you want to win now, but also want to be competitive long term as well, but either way their window is going to close for awhile after this season.

Being happy a player proves you wrong should run secondary to not having a shitty take in the first place.

As for the Royals, very excited for them to get absolutely doinked from the free agent rules this offseason.

You're wrong.

The Royals having a great fan base is exactly why they would be pissed off if the Royals sold right now. These are the guys who gave them the only good run of the past 20 years--and ended in a championship. If these guys have the chance to go get it again, let them. They've earned that, and every Royals fan wants to see it. If ownership dealt them all away now, the fans would be livid.

Well yeah they would be mad now if they started selling, but if they did it before the season started then the fans wouldnt have had that much of an issue since they know they aren't going to keep the guys after the season. Their fan base is a lot different than ours who will boo guys who play poorly. They still try to get guys to the all-star game regardless of how they are playing. They are a lot better at accepting what needs to be done than our group of fans.

Either way they are risking a ton for long term, while the players are trying to get lucrative deals, so we better watch out for them since they are a team on a mission and with the fact they went and made a trade to get better, makes them even more dangerous to us. We always get better the second half of the year, but the Royals are going to be dangerous in the second half and if the team gets complacent, could cause us to miss the playoffs altogether.
